This is how his list played out: Floyd Mayweather Roberto Duran Pernell Whitaker Julio Cesar Chavez Muhammad Ali I love this little gem from the delusional imbecile: "He was only at one weight-class," Mayweather said of Ali. "This is me just being honest. It's so hard (picking a top-five) ... What Ali did is he stood for a cause." atsch Anyone who leaves out names like Robinson,Louis and Armstrong out of their top 5 lose all credibility imo. Its like giving a top 5 NBA and putting Jordan at 5 while leaving out Russell,Bird and Magic. :rofl
I dont think jumping weight classes should be a prerequisite for being the best. I think the people who jump weight classes are ones who want the fight the best. Champs shouldnt move for anybody.
Well. At least he has 5 that most people put in their top 20-ish. (shrugs) Obviously he doesn't rate/know eras dating before color TV all too well. And at least he's consistent in not counting any of them (although I strongly disagree with him; like most I have Robinson, Armstrong, Louis, Pep comfortably in my top 10). Believe me if you've been on this site for a while then you've seen worse lists, haha. Back when this video came out a couple days ago and I saw the headline, I thought the list might be even worse.
Expected worse to be fair. Find it hard to not have SRR in there, but if you haven't taken much interest in older eras then I guess you#re right to leave them out seeing as it is a personal opinion.
Lol @ "one weight class". 1) He was a heavyweight - what do you expect? 2) He has more wins over prime ATG's at their optimal weight class than you EVER had. And he dine it one "one" weight class, too. 3) He took MANY more risks as a fighter than you. Why? Because he was a fighter. Makes me laugh how someone who has been a pro for 19 years, and has fought in 5/6 different divisions over the course of THREE different decades in FORTY EIGHT fights hasn't got a SINGLE win over an ATG in their PRIME at their OPTIMAL weight class. F*ck, you've been a pro since 1996! It's 2015 now! You've had nearly FIFTY fights. To slate Ali's achievements and big up your own is sad.
Oh, and compare Floyd's first place to nearly every other boxing historians No.1 and you'll see the difference between an ego-maniac and an expert.
Floyds ego is just too much sometimes. Never ever seen a fighter I want to see KO'd so much. Sadly though it probably won't happen...but just how great it would be if it did!
Russell is not even close to the top 5 all time in NBA history.he was on a GREAT team hence why he has 11 rings.but as an individual player.no way in hell
Actually I don't put Bird or Russellin my top 5 all time. You can also argue that Magic is not even the best PG of all time. Please don't talk basketball if you don't know it. Oh and BTW. I think prime floyd beats JCC and Armstrong at Super Featherweight. He also beats Duran and Whittaker at lightweight and Robinson at Welterweight.
This is boxing forum, but who you have top5 all-time in NBA I have only clearly 3top names Jordan,Abdul-Jabbar and Chamberlain. After that it comes extremely difficult for me. There are so many names you could argue belongs there.maybe Lebron will go as 4th member to that unique group.totally depends how his rest of career spans out.if it ends today, still Lebron would be somewhere in top 10 probably. And have to disagree with two of your picks,Duran beats Floyd at LW,and definetly can't see how Floyd would beat Robinson at WW.i would give Floyd maybe 20% chance.and even that would be generous, especially if we would play with modern 8week training camps and Robinson would be as fresh as Floyd fight time.Robinson was an animal.and undisputed GOAT at WW.Floyd would get outclassed and manhandled.
