Plus live gate, plus advertiser dollars, plus incentives from the venue (likely the MGM) to host the fight there...

Floyd pays GBP just like Pac pays Arum although he gives up a lesser amount. Do you think GBP has been doing all this stuff for Floyd for free?

anybody that believes that floyd is getting 40 mill is crazy.. he's not getting anything close to that.. boxing is down plus floyd is not close to the draw DLH was in his prime and even DLH didnt get that amount for tune up fights.. is just a game of throwing numbers out there for publicity

    :hat

They dont. Why use GBP to promote your fights then when you can just do it yourself?

Like him or not PBF is smart. No matter who he fights he earns crazy money. The fight will do well on PPV. Mayweather always draws good numbers and I think the casual fan will buy into ortiz and mayweather on 24/7

Im guessing HBO have stuck by Floyd and put this money upfront, money they would have used both for floyd and pac as they know Manny will not be coming back from showtime.

He's a harvard graduate lawyer who worked for the US attorney tax department. I have no doubt he knows his in and outs to cheat his way out of some tax.

40mil sounds right considering Ortiz is probably getting about 10% cut, still much more than he would ever get.

Probably partially true. The likely scenario is that it is a CROSS promotion deal. The pot will likely be 60/40 (or even 65/35 or 70/30).

It is up to PBF to actually PAY HIMSELF. Ortiz will get his cut from GBP. And IF he has PPV buys (not guarantee as Ortiz is not a PPV draw).

Of course it also means PBF has a larger COST factor since he will pay a larger promotional fee than a normal fight would. But in the end he would get more money than a typical fighter would.

40M seems excessive. Good for FMJ but bad for GBP. Not sure whats the min PPV for this bout to break even.
