Floyd handled a 164lbs Ortiz easy - so why not just fight mw Martinez?

I'll say it like this. I can't stand ****in Pacquiao. Can't ****in stand him. If Pacquiao asks for a cutoff date on testing against Floyd, I'll welcome a Floyd fight with Martinez at 154.

I find that very hard to believe. Can you provide some evidence for that please.

I don't expect Mayweather or Pacquiao to ever fight Martinez, I don't blame them either (fighting eachother on the other hand...).

I don't think last night was evidence Mayweather could hold his own against a Middleweight in terms of strength, even with an impressive performance like that.

What a win it would be though if he could pull it off.

If HBO puts on the pressure, Schaefer comes up with a solid contract and Sergio is ready to do catch-weight which he said he would, it might very well happen. Rumors say Pacquiao-Bradley is a done deal (come on, that's far better then Pac's recent over the hills), and frankly, as much as it was shaping up to be interesting, I would skip the Ortiz rematch.

    Maybe Mayweather-Martinez and Ortiz-Berto II.

What are you on about you incoherent *****?

Floyd is elite, Manny is elite and so is Martinez. Manny already said he AGREED TO ALL THE DEMANDS. Martinez has called Fraud out time and again, so why won't Floyd acknowledge their challenge?

Because he gets good money fighting lesser opponents.

If Khan loses in his next fight then Floyd may not have a better option than Martinez, (assuming of course that the Pac fight will once again get deferred.)

Khan ain't losing to Peterson or Morales, though - so he's next.

Ortiz looked huge in their last night against Floyd, and Marvilla would make Floyd look like a little kid.

He'd have a legit 20+lbs on Floyd come fight time.

It'd be a great legacy fight if Floyd could win, and I'm sure it would happen if Floyd didn't have a ZERO on his record.. but Floyd values that ZERO too much too risk it in this fight.

I can't really hold that against him, to be honest. Not many guys have that ZERO at this point in their career and he knows even with the deck stacked against him, if he lost, the haters would have a hay day.

Haters always try to distort reality. First when Floyd jump to 135 pounds he wants to fight Mosley and Mosley did not fight him. It is not about fear it was business because Mosley jump to 147 pounds to fight Oscar de la Hoya. The same thing happen to Floyd, he fear nobody. When Floyd arrive at 140 pounds he want Cotto, Arum said that Cotto was not ready and dont make the fight. Kosta zu lose to Hatton and never fight again, dont lie to try to make your distored opinion look good. Stop the lies. How can you fight somebody that retire? Hatton said that he was not ready for Floyd. The only one remaining was Gatti and everybody see what happen. If you want or you dislike somebody you are in your own right. But please be a man and dont start to blame somebody when you dont now nothing about what you are talking about. First know the topic and then make an opinion, do not make an opinion based on hate please. That make you look bad. And much people here talk a lot of **** and dont know anything about boxing. But the are some that really know what they speak and know about history too. Floyd has beaten to the punches similar foes with a big advantage in size. Castillo was a full welterweight when Floyd fight him the first time and the second too. Floyd beats to the punch and later give a boxin lesson to baldomir, and Baldomir was a middleweight the nigh of the fight and Mayweather was a like welterweight. That is the true. 42-0 and will be 43-0 after pacman

I think that Floyd will fight Pacquiao, possibly 2 or 3 times, and then eventually move to middle and end his career there.

That in my mind is what he needs to get up there with the greats. Beat his rival, then move up and beat a bigger man for the linear mw title. He's lucky we have a good mw champ in Martinez and not some bum. I think he needs to do it.

Because Martinez is a top class fighter while Ortiz is **** basically. Floyd wouldn't dare fight such a tough opponent like Martinez or for that matter the Pac Man. You can't really blame Floyd though when he can make the same money when fighting nothing nonsense fighters like Ortiz.

Floyd can beat him and promoting shouldn't be a problem since so many hc-fans got fooled by Ortiz hype.
