Would you agree? I know the first thought was that Floyd was embarrassed, which makes sense. No fighter wants to admit to getting hurt in sparring, nothing wrong with that. The fight was delayed over a month though. And Floyd has cryptically said on and off that it wasnt caused in sparring, but that guy that did it isnt a little guy, that he wasnt sure how it happened, that he knows how happened, etc etc. Considering is unusual behavior in the press conference, I am thinking that he may have had a fractured rib or two from sparring. I say fractured, not broken, those are two different things. If he did get a fractured rib, it would make sense why he has refused to say anything about it. JMM can hurt a fighter to the body as good as any other mexican. Him finding out Floyd Jr can be hurt the ribs on such and such side, that is an instant strategy. The other reason Floyd has not been his usual confident self, he is nervous. Rib injuries are notoriously known for becoming chronic and can be reinjured easily. This is likely his first fight where his body is somewhat compromised.
He has went in to plenty of fights with injury's, most fighters do. But he has had hand problems going into fights. He was sparring a 175 pounder who is a pro, that's who hurt him to the body. he tried to work though it and it got worse.
could be... we really don't know. maybe it is just another excuse not to fight JMM so he have bigger $$$$$$$$ from pac.
PBF is 32 years old he is much older body blows would definitely take away his legs. If he did suffer an injury like you say..its definitely not good. I think Marquez can beat him regardless of the injury. PBF does not sound like himself I agree with you. Roberto Duran said that PBF is trying to back out of the fight as that he cant beat Juan Ma.
While I tend to lead more towards Floyd being TOO rusty combined with ticket sales declining leading to a small reset in regards to the fight, The idea that a body punch did some damage to his ribs is certainly possible. Wouldnt surprise me in the least.
