Floyd has a lot to gain from a rematch with Cotto at MW

Winning any title at a catchweigh should put the win with a * next to it. But with Floyd people will always remember the catchweigh and think its tainted, with other fighters who's done it they dont get criticized half as much.

 

Make the fight at 160 lbs, Cotto will still likely weigh in at 155 lbs regardless boxing fans would criticise May weather if he won the title at a catch weight.

Cotto likely weighs less than Ortiz, Canelo and Oscar on fight night other wise why weigh in so light.

 

Whatever asterisk anyone would like to put next to it, if Floyd won the lineal Middleweight title it would be an amazing achievement. Being The Man at Super-Featherweight and Middleweight would be tremendous bookends to his career.

Okay I admit I like Floyd but a rematch is pointless. You'll have even more puerto rico fans screaming everytime he throws a punch thinking it was landed. Mayweather already considers Cotto to be his toughest fight to date pre-Roach, and that Cotto was losing to Trout. Cotto last night would have stomped Trout. May won't take that fight.

 

I'd rather see it at 160 or nothing at all. 155lbs catchweight ruins this fight and I wouldn't bother watching it.

 

I really have no idea why anyone would think FLoyd Mayweather would be afraid of taking on Miguel Cotto.

He beat him decisively in their first go around at the full 154 lb limit. A fighter as cerebral as FLoyd whose already shared the ring with Cotto for 12 rounds will come back and most likely dominate him even more clearly.

But I will agree with the posters above me, I only want to see that fight at the full 160 lb limit. It's not like Cotto's a big MW, it's only fair they meet at the full weight limit. There's no version of Cotto that can beat Floyd, I've always been positive of that.
