Floyd has beaten all linear WW champions

Margarito won his first vacant WW title the WBO against Antonio Diaz, then had his first quality title defense 7 fights 4yrs later vs Cintron. Struggled vs Clottey but edged it out due to Clottey injuring his hand.

So Margo won one vacant belt and had 2 decent defenses in 9 fights 5yrs.

Jab Judah defeated the WBC, WBA, IBF champ Spinks(who defeated Mayorgao who defeated Forrest who defeated Mosley who defeated Hoya)to become the top 3 WW and top 10 P4P and WBC, WBA, IBF champ.

Baldomir defeated Judah who was the WBC, WBA, IBF champ and top 10 P4P, then defended his title against Gatti. This after having a 17 fight win streak 8yr undefeated streak.

 

People just discredit Mayweather because they don't like them. There's nothing rational about hatred. They will never give him credit no matter what.

He fought some damn good fighters and the best people that were available.

But again people dislike so all of sudden they have decided that the top rank fighters were the best, and then blame Floyd when Arum offered a BS deal, and Floyd went on and made way more money on his own.

 

Baldmoir was the lineal WW champ and Mayweather got 8million to fight him, then in his next fight he was a apart of the biggest and richest fight in boxing history.


If he had signe to fight Margarito, that would have required him staying under contract with Arum who point blank told him, that he wasn't interested in doing the DLH because there wasn't enough money in it, and that it would never happen.

Baldomir was worth the same amount of money or more. Baldomir had just beat Judah and Gatti and was on a 19 fight win streaks and undefeated for over 8 years. If he didn't fight Baldomir, then people would have said he fought Judah even though he lost and ducked Baldomir.

And of course, he was about to win his 3rd lineal belt.

Easy choice. The Margarito fight never made much sense until he beat Cotto, but Floyd was retired then

Baldomir was the champion at the weight at the time, whether anyone cares to admit it or not. Margo was only starting to get noticed in 2006, following his victory over Cintron, but he himself was starting to catch flack at the time for following up that victory with a fight against 10-loss vet Manuel "Shotgun" Gomez- and didn't help his cause by struggling to defeat Clottey less than a month following the Baldomir-Mayweather fight.

Meanwhile, Mayweather already had DLH lined up as an opponent for DLH's LM title...And that was the fight that everyone was clamoring for at the time, anyway.

So, Baldomir gives Mayweather lineal and alphabet recognition as champ at WW (and Ring recognition, too) going into the DLH fight. That's a heck of a selling point...Way better than a victory over a fighter who was still emerging as a force, but had yet to enter public consciousness.

Just the way it was at the time, really.

 

Of course with all thats been said, this is going to be completely ignored by ignorant hating fools, who are going to continue their stupid, and mindless ducking accusations despite not having a shred of evidence to back it up.
