Floyd has beaten all linear WW champions

Even though I don't wholely agree.. this was post of the day.. hands down

 

To play devil's advocate... Floyd fought Mosley #3 p4p.... JMM #2 p4p..... Hatton # 4 p4p... De La Hoya one weight division higher plus career payday to that point.. and Baldomir linear champ.... so you can't criticize him on who he fought (even though he did come in heavier than JMM).. its just that he DID NOT fight Cotto/ Clottey/ or Williams.... I don't include the cheater

Pac has faced the guys Floyd didn't but those guys weren't ranked/ damaged goods... Cheater... Cotto..... Mosley..... Hatton (sort of/ I think he was still game tho)... SO BOTH HAVE FLAWS IN OPPOSITION

He's the world's most talented and skillful boxer at the moment. And has been for some time.

He has won titles in four or five divisions.

He's an ATG and a future hall of famer.

That enough credit ?


He has good teeth and is a snappy dresser.

No that was just one comparison between hoya and jones.

Floyd fighting judah would have been better had he not first fought mitchell, but still it aint too bad.

Floyd- baldomir had to happen.

His victories over hoya and hatton absolutely proved his worth as p4p number 1.

What gripes me is that there was a wealth of talent in his division all desperate for a shot at him, even just the other beltholders in cotto, margo and williams. He could have stayed inactive fighting every 9 month and just they would have done.

I think deep down he knows his legacy is still there to be improved.

If he beats ortiz and pac at the weight it improves his standing as a welterweight greatly.

I think he has the frame to beat cotto and alvarez at 154 also.

I'd love him to really test the waters and take on williams and martinez at middleweight but that's just hope not expectation.

I'd say ortiz and pac at ww are minimum requirements. He'll take back his old belt and p4p crown. Beating cotto at 154 would then be a nice way to finish his career.

 

OK, let me get this straight, are you all saying that Floyd's WW resume is topnotch?

Oh and btw, who cares if Floyd has beaten the linear, exponential or rational champions.

His ww resume isn't top notch but it's slightly underrated imo.

He's fought mitchel, judah, baldomir, hatton, jmm and mosley.

It isn't as good as his skills suggest but it isn't as bad as is sometimes made out.

Between bald-hatton floyd definitely displayed his talents and proved he was p4p material. I can't believe he didn't keep the momentum going.

When you consider hoya fought whittaker, quartey and trinidad who were the best 3 welter's of the 90's outside himself. He also fought mosley, floyd and pac who are arguably the best 3 welter's of the 00's.

I believe floyd has more talent than hoya but his resume doesn't stack up imo.

Hoya fought the very best from 135 to 160. He did beat the best superfeathers of his time but that was when he was a lightweight so I won't include it.

Floyd's resume is great, his ww resume is not.
