Floyd has beaten all linear WW champions

cotto, clottey, delahoya and mosley are much better set of opponents and greater wins than floyd's judah, baldomir, mosley, hatton and jmm at welter. and pac did it in a much shorter time frame than floyd. the only linear he beat was baldomir.

 

I don't get why people are talking about Margarito

Clottey - lost to Baldomir

Mosely - coming off a Mayweather schooling


Let's look at Mayweathers

Baldomir - unbeaten at 147 for about 7 years, and ring champion

Judah - coming off a loss, but Mayweather only fought him as that's the fight people wanted. Still PFP number 9

Mosely - coming off the most dominating performance of his career. Linear champ. PFP number 3

Hatton - PFP number 4. Legit double weight world champ. Unbeaten

I cannot believe that I'm still seeing this idea that Floyd avoided JOSH CLOTTEY. Even if you hate the guy, even if you don't think his welterweight resume is the best, and even if you think wanted nothing to do with Margarito or Cotto, mentioning Clottey's name at all in this discussion makes you sound like nothing more than a Top Rank apparatchik.

 

everybody knows that msoley and cotto are both 1 and 2 at the time when floyd is fighting jmm and pac is fighting cotto. just look at the ring rankings. clottey was a clear #5 behind mosley, pac, cotto and berto, again by ring magazine. a case could be made at #4 since most would rank clottey ahead of berto. mosley was #3 ranked welter when pac fought him just behind pac and ortiz, again by ring magazine.

If you're claiming Clottey was 5, behind mosley, pac, cotto and berto, then you must be claiming that Mayweather was not in the top 5 at the time.

Floyd was number 3 in the division when he faced Mosely.
