Margo beat Cotto afterwards to become #1 but before that he didn't beat a #1 to become a #1.

Mosley beat DLH, Forrest beat Mosley, Mayorga beat Forrest, Spinks beat Mayorga, Judah beat Spinks, Baldomir beat Judah, Mayweather beat Baldomir.

Cintron ended up doing nothing with his career and was nothing more then a prospect at that time. Losing to Williams doesn't make you a #1 WW. He was also losing to Clottey soundly until Clottey broke his hand.

true by that time. But after the Cotto fight??? Mosley was not the first choice of Margo. I think that Floyd was going to beat him easy because Margo went to party mode. The Margo and Cotto that fought each other could've given Floyd plenty of trouble.

Mayweather would have re matched DLH for another 20mil if he didn't retire and Margo would have lost to Mosley. Margarito's best chance at a Mayweather fight was after Baldomir defeated Judah I believe that Mayweather offered Margo a fight in place of the Judah fight but Margo couldn't agree to the date since it was such short notice or something like that.

I would say instead of the Baldomir fight but by that time Mayweather and Arum were suing each other and that fight was going down with TR.

He didn't face the best at 140 either.

When he had the chance to face Winky, the best at 154, he demanded a rehydration clause which killed the fight.

Marg was cheating loading his hands with BRICKS and Cotto was crossing his hands when he blocked punches

I will say Ortiz was a good opponent. Really though Ortiz spent most his career at 140. He lost to Maidana and drew with Peterson. Ortiz is just okay.

Everyone knew Mosley was over the hill when he fought Floyd.

The truth is Floyd has not faced the best opponents available.

The rationale some people are using is "well someone else eventually beat them (Cotto, Margarito) so there was really no need for Floyd to ever step up when they were good." It does not make sense. All Floyd has to do is wait for them to lose and say see I told you so. He is trying the same thing with Pac but so far Pac has not lost.

  8. Another stupid excuse is that the best opposition were signed to a different promotion company that Floyd doesn't get on with. That's politics plain and simple. Ans absolutely not a legitimate reason why he shouldn't be fighting the best.

Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito were better then Paul Williams and Shane Mosley?

Umm I think not. Cotto and Margarito blantantly ducked Paul Williams.

Just too much similarity in all his Welter oppositon for it to be coinidence.
Hatton, JMM and Ortiz have 2 combimed wins at 147. none by KO.
Shane was off almost 2 years and shot to pieces.
How do u mamange to fight those 4 at WW in 5 years of action ?

40% of his last 5 years are tune ups. His delusional fans help him get away with it.
Not 1 with Cotto, Marg, Williams, Pacquiao, Clottey ? Zzzzz

Tzyu fight wasn't realistic and Hatton didn't want to fight Mayweather after Tzyu, Cotto wasn't ready either and Gatti was rated better then Hatton and Cotto before Hatton beat Tzyu. Gatti was the only one who accepted a fight as well as the most realistic since he was with HBO. Even then Gatti had to be trashed by Mayweather verbally and Mayweather had to fight 2 eliminators in order to get the fight.

Mayweather could have been fighting at 135 at that time there is no reason for him to even be fighting Wright at 154.
