Margarito's best chance at a Mayweather fight was after Baldomir defeated Judah I believe that Mayweather offered Margo a fight in place of the Judah fight but Margo couldn't agree to the date since it was such short notice or something like that.

I would say instead of the Baldomir fight but by that time Mayweather and Arum were suing each other and that fight was going down with TR.
