Floyd has no acceptable option except a past-prime Mosley...

...but I'll still be very impressed if Mayweather takes the fight.

At long long last, Floyd will actually fight a bona fide top welterweight.

    - OK, Mosley is now a far cry from the fighter who convincingly defeated Oscar De La Hoya in the biggest fight of 2000, but judging by his last performance, he is still a top top fighter.

    - And OK, Floyd has no other acceptable option at the moment - he has the choice of Mosley, inactivity, or a crap opponent which will see him ridiculed. (I don't believe Paul Williams could be in top fighting shape at 147 by March giving that he just had a very tough fight at 154)

But I'll still be pleased that Floyd has finally grown the necessary balls to fight a natural, top level welter. And I still think it's a really great fight.

I think Floyd will outpoint Shane because Shane is too easy to hit for someone as quick as Floyd, but Mosley definitely has a chance because he has tremendous power at 147 and has one of the very best strategists in the game in brother Naazim.

Here's hoping this superfight gets made :happy

Mosley is ****ing upo for Mayweather, and I don't think Floyd wants a part of Shane to be honest.

Lets wait till its signed and all, but as of now.. Mayweather ain't going to sign it I think.. or he's going to find a way out one way or another.

Mosley is going to touch him because he's got the speed, power and experience. I actually think Shane would stop him brutally.

If Floyd ****s this negotiation up as well, he is in danger of becoming a complete joke in the boxing world, even among his own adoring fans. I can't see that happening though. He can't avoid Mosley anymore, there are no other options for him. Shane is ready and free of commitments, Floyd was intending to fight in March and is free as well, and they are in the same division. It has to happen. The other options for Floyd are laughable (Nate Campbell, Malignaggi, Cintron etc). I don't think he has a way out of this one. Mosley vs Mayweather surely must happen. I hope it does, it's a great fight IMO.

Interestingly enough, when Mosley kicked the dog **** out of Margarito, he catapulted to the #1 spot in the WW division.

It goes to show you the lack of talent we saw in the 90's, when a past prime 39 year old is the best WW.

He will fight him...don't have to worry about this fight not being made...

but, the better match-up at this time would be Bradley/May at 140.

This fight is as good as signed fellas. Stop this past his prime nonsense as well. Floyd doesn't take the fight, he is avoiding one guy who can beat him. He takes the fight (as he is), Mosley is washed up and past his prime.

Just STFU and watch the fight and give your opinion after the fight.

    "Not worry" you say?
It's a well established fact that recently, Floyd has not even looked Shanes way. He may have done so when he was on his way up, but surely not as an established money maker.

Shane Mosley is ridiculously up for a Mayweather fight, I think we'd see him more focused than ever, he'd tear Mayweathers ass apart.
Shane has been looking for a fight like this for years and years, when/if he gets one, he'll be up for it.

Mosley wasn't ready to fight Mayweather until he was 35-36yrs old.

    :rofl how so?

should Mayweather wait till Shane is a bit older, or he puts in a bad performance so that you give those as excuses as to why Floyd fought him?

Shane is currently the most dangerous man at welterweight and a far bigger name than Bradley.

coincidently before this fight was close to being made everyone wanted to see it, funny how ppl change their tune.

It would be borderline ******ed to try and pretend that Mosley isn't past-prime. He is what, 38 or 39 years old? He was at his peak about 9-10 years ago, look at the difference between the man who fought Oscar first time out and the man who fought Mayorga.

Having said that, it is still a great fight because Mosley is still a top top fighter.

Why not just accept it as you state in bold above? We get to see a great fight (or at least a potential great match-up) with a lot of hype and interest which will be good for the sport.

everyone recognises that Mosley is past prime, but its getting mentioned alot more now that it looks like the fight could be made.

you used it as your title, as if your bashing Floyd for it.

What part of this have I disagreed with exactly? It is a great fight, Mosley is a top fighter. I have said both of these things more than once on this thread. Neither of these things change the fact that Mosley is past-prime, but I for one can't wait for the fight anyway.

i wish you were right. We'll have to wait and see who is. Hopefully, Mosley can give the entire boxing world an early Christmas present and teach him a lesson in humility!!:good

I just don't think he has a prayer.
