Manny's legacy will be hugely elevated if he beats Floyd. It will be massive. If Floyd wins, he will slightly elevate his status, but it is hard to forget that Manny hasn't been the killer that he once was for years now, and he was knocked out cold not too long ago. Its also worth mentioning that he hasn't tasted many big right hands since that loss. I expect Floyd to get the predicted win, but if Manny can somehow pull off the upset, he will no doubt go down in history as a top 5 great that overcame a lot of adversity- as greats do. Would be a legendary story, but don't count on it.

Floyd's whole identity, his persona is on the line.

Manny won't be a "top five great" in most rational peoples' eyes but his status will be elevated more than Mayweather's by a win.

We all have our opinions, which are all worth about the same. I have a hard time putting any current fighter in the top twenty but that's just me.

That's what happens when you duck a fighter for 6 years after throwing out every excuse in the book.....then finally fight him.

As thesmokingm said, Floyd's entire career and identity will be on the line. And that is 100% his fault for his terrible personality.

It's human nature to think the past was better somehow or tougher, etc.

Its all very objective. There are a lot of great fighters and it is never definitive. SRR as #1 is probably the most agreed upon slot.

At the end of the day, Manny can be as motivated as ever and he will still lose. In my opinion.

Not really. I think the current level of professional basketball is much higher than the past, the same for the NFL. I've seen enough boxing over my lifetime to know when I am looking at an inferior product.

I dunno, the NBA today is weak sauce. You can't even touch a guard. Bring back hand checking and watch what happens to their manufactured stars.

I hope you are correct, but logic without emotion says otherwise unfortunately.

The skill level has improved. I remember when Cousy went behind his back with the dribble and people freaked out. Now you have grade schoolers that can handle the ball better than Bob. The game may not be as entertaining to watch but the skill level has definitely increased.
