Cant compare the two. Diferent styles, diferent abilities. I can agree with that, its still a double standard, similar to Roy Jones who went through many weights and Joe Calslappy who dominated one for years and only moved up late in his career one division. Actually not that similar because of the finish of their careers but you get what im saying.

I don't see the double standard? Hatton challenged himself until he bit off more he could chew, and that's how his greatness was defined. A really good Junior Welterweight who couldn't continue his success in other divisions. Mayweather, in contrast, is still dominating fighters winning 10-11 rounds...so is it not only natural that he jump up a division. He's dominating the Welterweights. Hudson is entitled to his opinion, but Berto would get brutalized.

All we've been hearing is Floyd needs to fight the real WWs and now that he's beat ONE thats acceptable he needs to go to 160? Like i said, 160 is fine with me but if he did stay and clean out the WW division, wouldnt that be what everyone wanted or at least said they wanted for the longest time?

Yes, but Mayweather is a lightweight fighting at welterweight.

Asking him to go up to 160 is ridiculous. He couldn't even make 154 for the De La Hoya fight.

Look at his physique no homo. He is very muscular looking for a welterweight - at 160 he'd look like a bodybuilder, not a boxer.

What else do you suggest Floyd does? Who's at 154lbs? Who, besides Mosley and Pacquiao, are P4P rated Welterweights?

I suppose Floyd cleaning up at 147lbs isn't such a bad idea...I'd prefer he move to 160lbs though, winnable fights up there for him.

Cant argue that. Pac/Floyd, lets do it. I think Floyd will win but Pac has what it takes to possibly beat him and if Pac wins...all the 160 talk is for nothing.

Nonsense. Floyd is legitimate Welterweight. He's been campaigning there for years and absolutely dominating his opposition. He's not a Lightweight.

I like the idea of 160 and personally think cleaning out the WW division would be overrated but he needs to try and make at least one more WW fight and thats with the Pac man

hatton went up and had a fight with collazo which could have gone either way. Most of you forget that and forget to mention collazo had a similar situation with berto the supposed next big thing in the division hes a tough cookie for your first fight in a division. The fact is being undefeated is an underrated trait in that you dont know how to lose and youre not used to it. When hatton got shown he could lose and be outclassed he lost everything

The reason why the majority want to see him at 160lbs isn't because they want him to lose, these guys know how good he is and he CAN carry his ability up there. The only demand to that is extremely obvious, that's the only way to counter Pacquiao's accomplishments. To be more specific and possibly ridiculous he also has to win a title at Super middleweight to fully counter and only be even with Pacquiao. Trust me it was also ridiculous whenever anyone mentioned "fantasy" match-ups like "Pacquiao vs Hatton", "Pacquiao vs Cotto", "Pacquiao vs DLH" or even "Pacquiao vs Mayweather" before Pacquiao made a move up and people laughed at them and called them ******ed. Then it happens and Pacquiao goes in as a huge underdog and against none other than DLH.

All of this, and more, has a lot to do with such requests by fans. Pacquiao's move up put a lot of pressure at the only other candidate for "greatest of this generation" Mayweather and what put far more pressure is he fought and beat guys Mayweather beat and did it in far better fashion and it forced Mayweather out of retirement.

    Your post doesnt make sense.

I want to see PBF at 160 not because I want to see him loose, but because I want to see how far he can go. No doubt PBF wont be the force he is at 160 as he is at 147...just as Hatton IMO wasnt the force he was at 147 as he was at 140.

To put it into perspective, I rate Mallignagi and Collazo on the same level, Hatton destroyed Paulie at 140 but arguably lost to Collazo at 147.

Yep, Scar is completely non bias when it comes to the 2. I think he's an even bigger Floyd fan than Pac too but he calls it how he sees it.
