Floyd Hits way harder than Berto and Maidana

For the record, you're looking like an idiot here with your thread. How the **** does Floyd have more power than Maidana when he just pity-pat his punches? For God's sake take Floyd's **** of your mouth. Jezzzz Luizzzz atsch

You never know for sure unless you've been in the ring with them. However, based on what I've seen in their fights, Maidana is the hardest puncher of the 3. Berto and Floyd are about the same, Floyd might be a slightly bigger puncher. Maidana has one punch KO power. He can knock people out cold. Berto and Mayweather are accumulation punchers. They can certainly hurt you and put you down with one punch, but they're not going to knock anyone out cold.

 

Mayweather does not hit harder than Maidana. However, he doesn't pity pat his punches either. He actually has excellent punching technique. If he was a big puncher, he'd be knocking out everyone cold.

It's a pity-pat but enough to snap opponents head that to the viewers eye may looked like a heavy punch. I think Maidana is having a hard time weighing 140 and it affects his punches by draining himself when training. At 147 Marcos would hit even harder...

I guess we have a different idea of what a pity pat punch is. When I see a guy putting his body into the punch, and snapping guys heads back, that is not a pity pat punch. To me, a pity pat punch are arm punches that are meant to pile up points rather than inflict damage.

 

The reason why I ask is because there are guys who sit in the gauntlet and ko guys like Pacquiao, guys who can't box and need maximum leverage like Maidana, boxers who put you on the defensive and stop guys after a accumulation punches like Floyd or chavez, and last but not least heavy handed guys like foreman and Hagler. It's hard to measure who hits harder of the three unless we have a punch meter. All we have are opinions on this matter.

 

You may be right. Maidana may just look like a bigger puncher than he is becaue he's feasted on bums.

Like BigReg has said, a pity-pat punch does not snap another persons head back, well it rarely does. Let's say Mayweather had Malignaggi type power (who is a genuine "pity-pat" puncher)...now stick Mayweather in with the same Mosley he fought last year...you believe that Mosley's head would have been getting snapped back off of virtually every shot? No.

Mayweather has very respectable power, not even close to being a pity-pat puncher.

I know the point you're trying to make, but it's not from their power. It's the fact that Floyd is so much more accurate and can create opening easier than Maidana. I'm sure Floyd could stop Khan when Maidana couldn't, but its' not really because of his power.
