in my opinion trout is way overrated I think canelos win against him was a decent victory nothing more

 

After Lara and Martinez trash him.

 

It was fighting his mandatory, Lara or feather fisted Trout.

 

I agree that it should have been a UD for Floyd. But the point is, if Oscar hadn't have slowed down, he could have taken it.

He was 34, had been inactive, and he retired the following year.

All of this "There's no blueprint" is all nonsense in my opinion.

Floyd's a great fighter, but he's not invincible.

What would have happened if he'd have been in the ring with a prime, 27 year old version of Oscar, instead of the 34 year old version that he fought?

 

Austin Trout's win over Cotto = Hatton's win over Tszyu

Hatton was a better more proven fighter at the time. and Mayweather KO'd him, while Canelo got a gift decision.

 

What would have happened if they fought at 147 with 8 oz gloves and a big ring? Oscar had every single contracted advantage in that fight and still clearly lost.

A contracted advantage, wasn't going to turn back the clock for Oscar.

It was a close fight, and Oscar was past his best.

I agree that it wasn't a split. Floyd pulled away in the last 3 rounds.

But the question has to be asked.

Oscar was on his way to victory, and he caused Floyd lots of trouble.

So if a 34 year old, inactive version of Oscar could cause him that much trouble, then it's more than plausible that a prime Oscar could have beaten him.

I'd have loved to have seen Floyd fight a prime Shane Mosley too.

That was funny as ****!

And the best thing about this fight is that even though I suspect Floyd will do a serious number on Canelo,the kid is young enough to come back stronger and maybe better.

I have a feeling this will be the last truly great performance from Floyd,and I don't think a late stoppage(maybe through cuts) is out of the question.

Enjoy the best boxer of his generation while he's still around.We'll have plenty more time to appreciate Canelo in years to come.
And I won't be surprised if he comes back at 160,where there are decent fights to be made.

just no. I'll give you the Castillo fight but even that was close. Hell Merchant had the fight close..just 1 point for castillo heading into the 12th. But Oscar was a 9-3, 8-4 fight at best for oscar.

 

I don't agree with those scores. But the point I was making, was that boxing is all about timing, and that Floyd isn't invincible.

 

Really !? He on the edge of growing out of the Jr middle weight devision and into middle weight. When that happen look for his Advantages to go flying out of the window. Alverez may have a short shelf life .

 

Mayweather didnt get busted up. lol He had a little bloody nose due to some jabs, the only punch that Cotto landed.

Austin Trouts victory was not better than Mayweather's... Cotto won like 3 rounds, or even just 2... only people severely critical of Floyd would give him more than that, these are the same guys who think Oscar won or that the SD was just.

And I wouldnt say Trout is a lot stronger. No Trout doesn't have much power, in his fight against Cotto he didn't manage to hurt cotto once, at least Mayweather was able to put him on wobbly legs in the 12th.
