no one is excited about it. remember that most *******s wants the floyd fight but floyd refused the fair 50/50 split and ran away to fight cotto instead which was not known in the public yet.

the more loud news was pac-cotto2 but no one seems interested and even *****s like you bash pac for wanting a rematch against someone who he thoroughly dominated and stopped even at any weight. but then, here comes the news that floyd signed up cotto to fight and cotto seemed to become a good challenge for floyd now but is not a good challenge for pac.

    Missing the point,

Pacs win over Cotto is no more or less legit than Mayweathers over Marquez

Both put in great performances that had nothing to do with weight.

But both wins have the potential be questioned because of the weight issues.

I know you're not talking to me, but, I thought I'd answer it anyway (if you don't mind).

Pacquiao was still an unknown commidity as a welterweight. His only fight there, was dismissed because it was a dead opponent. So when he was going against a live welterweight, it pretty reasonable for Pac to ask for a 145 catchweight, since he only 2 fights above 135 prior to that.

And for Shane, the approach [from Shane] came during the time where Pac-Cotto was about to be made. Hardly a time for Pac to cancel the negotiations for a guy who doesn't have near the same draw as Cotto. Roach being unsure of Shane as an opponent, wasn't that big of a deal, either. Because again, Pac wasn't a proven welter then. Many viewed him as still a lightweight. Their reasons for rejecting Mosley back then, were kinda' akin for their reasons for not fighting Martinez now.

    Exactly...

The only reason i brought it up,is because i think Cotto fought a GREAT FIGHT.And the way Mayweather is "comparing" Cotto´s loss to Pacquiao, with the loss against Margarito,is idiotic. And i dont see why he is doing that, only because of pure hate....
    It is ridicolous....
I say the Miguel Cotto,Pacquiao fought was a different animal....Cotto fought good against Margarito, but Cotto was at his peak when he fought pacquiao.I also think Pacquiao was at his peak at that time...The Cotto fight, the Hatton fight, the diaz fight, and even Clottey and Magarito was great performances. The mosley fight, the Marquez fight, makes me think he has lost his sharpness....Can bradley take advantage of that?? I think we are in for a WAR!!!:good

No, I think you've missed my point.

I'm merely addressing Floyd's logic. He feels it's only right to fight people at the weights they're comfortable at. Because if you don't, your win will be cancelled out. That's what he's done with Pac-Cotto. So, it's only right to do that with Floyd-JMM, too.

Besides, Pac's win over Cotto is more legit than Floyd's over JMM.

Cotto is really undefeated but Floyd isn't really undefeated.

Ok, i get what your saying. It is true but that brings in my point aswel, where if Floyd uses that logic on the pac fight then its the same for his marquez fight. One cant be a good win and the other a bad one because the reasons to discredit them are aplicable to both.

Also I think the catchweight was more to the benefit of marquez and floyd bitched him by taking no notice of it. But marquez has since proved himself asa smooth operator at that weight

Could be too that Floyd is saying this instead of what he really thinks due to how much some fighters like to sue. :yep

I'm talking about the negotiations for the rematch with Cotto where Manny refused to go above 147 even though he'd already gone to 150 for Margocheato.

Pacquiao-Mosley sold more PPV's than Pacquiao-Cotto, and that fight didn't come until after Shane looked like absolute **** in two consecutive fights. Shane wasn't turned away because the fight wouldn't sell. He was turned away because he had just finished ****ing Margocheato in his ass.
