margo had beaten cotto legit and this is coming from a big cotto fan. of course he is a suspect since he was caught trying to use a Plaster of Paris ingredient in the mosley fight but we would have to give williams a big credit the same for surviving a margo with a suspect wrap as well.

also a catchweight fight is not such a special circumstance. the weight that fighters fight is just an arbitrary number that both fighters should meet. people are treating catchweight fights like it was extraordinary and unusual. what is important is that both of the fighters made it.

that was far from cotto's best. the weight im sure was a problem but the real issue was no trainer.

The catch weight fight is a special circumstance. If the fight is at WW, where the limit is 147 and the contract stipulates a limit of 146, then it is a special circumstance, outside of the WW norm.

I don't think two pounds takes away from Pac's win over Cotto, I see it as his second greatest win, behind his first over MAB. However Mayweather is fighting him at the regular limit, no special stipulations. You have to recognise that atleast.

the only special circumstance around the fight is the WBO belt being in line for a catchweight fight. but other than that, the weight is just an arbitrary number.

of course i would give floyd credit for beating cotto. not because it's at 154 or at not because it's not at catchweight but because he beat miguel ****ing cotto. he could have fought cotto at 150 or 147 and he still gets credit.
