Oh I don't disagree. But those are a sub section of boxing fans - not even all boxing fans. My grandfather LOVED Marvelous Marvin (which became my personal favorite also). His boxing knowledge (both technical and historical) was tremendous. All before the age of Google, YouTube and cable TV. But hated the Floyd style. Back to my point - it is true there are people who can appreciate Floyd's tremendous defensive and offensive skills. But it does not change the fact that the estimated $35 million + he will earn in March 13 is coming from people who wants to be entertained FIRST and FOREMOST (boxing aficionado or not). He has to accept that. If they want to learn they will read a book and not spend $60 (+ party cost) to get a lesson in the art of the Sweet Science. To add, also I would bet that many Americans will root for him (does not hurt that he panders to that 'patriotic' part) and win or lose - there will be some level of disappointment of his style. PBF SHOULD know this. He himself has professed to be an expert to the BUSINESS side of the sport. Well this is the ENTERTAINMENT BUSINESS side of it. Is he in denial? No. Like I said, he just wants his cake....
I DONT UNDERSTAND...ITS OFTEN CALLED "SQUARE CIRCLE"..ITS JUST A TERM USED IN GYMS.. PEOPLE GET SO UPSET BY EVERY LITTLE THING FLOYD SAYS...THE MAN MISSES A PERIOD AT THE END OF HIS SENTENCE AND HE GETS MURDERED FOR IT:bbb
fail atsch Floyd may want money but what fighter doesn't want money...Floyd is a saftey first fighter and thats how he fights his bouts...I see what he saying about it isn't cool to take punishment...makes sense...in boxing you are taught to hit and not get hit..he pretty good at it and gets a lot of hate from people cuz of how he acts...CANT DENY HIS SKILLS IN THE RING BECAUSE OF IT THOUGH
Wow by trying to laugh at Floyd, you reveal you've never been around a gym, never laced them up, or never read up on boxing. A boxing ring is called a squared circle by millions and millions of people. You ****ing idiot:deal The name ring is an [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atavism"]atavism[/ame] from when contests were fought in a roughly drawn circle on the ground. The name ring continued with the [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Broughton"]Jack Broughton[/ame] [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_Prize_Ring_rules"]rules[/ame] in 1743, which specifed a small circle in the centre of the fight area where the boxers met at the start of each round. The first square ring was introduced by the Pugilistic Society in 1838. That ring was specified as 24 feet (7.3 m) square and bound by two ropes. For these and other reasons, the boxing ring is commonly referred to as the "square circle." [ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boxing_ring[/ame]
Since when did your grandfathers opinion become an authorative voice on the sport, and you say your grandfather before the age of google and youtube, newsflash everyone on this site is before the age of google and youtube, how long you think google been around Im 23 and the **** was just created maybe 7 years ago. So whats exciting to you watching to people beat each other up, then go watch MMA, DEFENSE adheres to the highest principles of the sweet science, Hit and not be HiT, but any fool can hit all you need is two arms, If you cant appreciate defense then you cant really call your self a fan of boxing. Counter punching is defense, head movement is defense, weaving and slipping punches is defense, circling an opponent is defense, fenting and parrying punches is defense, changing direction is defense. You say your grandfather liked Hagler, you think hagler would of been champ as long as he was, if he didn't have defense. Defense wins championships, any idiot can hit somebody it takes infinite more skill to not be hit back, at this level everyone knows how to land a punch but not everyone knows how to keep from being hit with one. You ask one ****ing fighter today if they wouldn't like to trade in their defensive scheme for Floyds, and I bet you couldn't fight 3 fighters who would turn that down. Floyd is a defensive master, every facet of defense he has it mastered, and if thats not entertaining then maybe you watching the wrong sport.
For all your eagerness to dismiss the argument, it seem you failed to read and understand it. Let me put it in an easy to swallow tablets for you... No one is saying my grandfather is some world authority. But he is a "boxing fan". One that understands and appreciates the technical and artistry of the sport. But it does not preclude... oops.... I mean it does not make it automatic that he will prefer to watch Floyd's style. Second, you missed the my point. It has nothing to do with what boxers prefer. Boxers account for .00099 of Floyd's revenues. The rest of your tirade is pointless thus no need to address it.
thats the best u can come up with...shut up and respond...till than go teach an english class somewhere else h0
Why would I spend the time to respond when obviously reading comprehension is too much to ask for you?
