There's some truth to it. I've read somewhere that Floyd laments the lack of support from Black boxing fans. Floyd loves Brit fans coz they will support him.
This is part of the brilliance of Mayweather. It's a numbers game and in the U.S. African Americans make up 13.25% of the population. Whatever the venue, it would be in the best interest of those individuals relying on the public for revenue to have "crossover" appeal, have no borders or confinement. This is business 101. Traditionally, the U.K. has been very receptive to African Americans as a whole, dating back to pre civil rights days. Many black citizens left the country and sought refuge in the U.K. But in today's boxing circles, if you want to be a success, look to the hispanic market. If you capture it, you're set.:bbb
Indeed! Same for most of the boxing fans around the globe I'd say. Bring Floyd over to Germany, Spain, Japan... Any country where people do follow boxing would be glad to be able to see him train or fight!
This picture indicates that he bought and paid very well to the hispanic market from head to mutha ****ing toe even the boxing gloves for **** sakes..... Damn Floyd wishes he was mexican
This content is protected Then again Mosley has the same ****ing problem:huh HEY WHY THE **** YAL STEALIN OUR **** MAN?:huh
Know he hasn't. Only an American born of mexican or hispanic heritage could do that. See De La Hoya (even he had problems at first because he was see as too white). Fernando Vargas was more popular with core mexican boxing fans. Floyd picked up the family tradition becoming the "mexican assassin". Picking his opponents to build the revenue for PPV etc... Many in business say "any publicity is good publicity".
