Certainly. But Jones set his own pace and also adjusted beautifully. He had great in-ring intelligence. Jones was showier true, but he was also more powerful. And for some reason, most have forgot, Jones was just as hard if not harder to hit than PBF, utilizing great footwook and incredible footspeed and great head movement. PBF is more textbook, but no more effective IMO (both are a notch below Whitaker). PBF has his case, but I think he is a lesser fighter than Jones. But I won't vehemently argue the point.
No. The prime Jones did everything right, and did so easily. People would try to push him against the ropes, and he would avoid 90% of their punches and uppercut them so hard that they lost whatever momentum they might have had immediatedly. And about the adjustment thing; Jones would switch to southpaw just to mess with the opponent. There was simply no way to prepare yourself for a prime Jones, as he was so superior that he could switch fluently between different strategies within seconds.
