Great fight ... I don't think Marquez has anything to lose, and he gets a chance at a PPV and a nice payday.

I doubt he's going to win, but if he puts in a good effort, its going to benefit him a ton. He'll still be lightweight champion and he'll still be one of the best fighters in the world p4p.

Good decision on Marquez' part ... especially if Pac loses tonight !!

Marquez can say that he lost to the real p4p king and a loss to Mayweather will be better than a Pac win over a faded _ drained DLH.

Because you got to see Cotto do this at 140 for years until he was forced to go to 147 because of weight issues:lol:.

That's simple-minded and disrespectful to JMM, who has proven to always be up for a challenge.

It's obvious that most fighters take fights with an eye on the bottomline and JMM is no exception but IMO the biggest reason he's taking this fight is to continue in his quest to prove he's the best fighter out there.

I'm sure he also intends to one-up PAC, cause a win over PBF would trump anything that Pac has done so far.

Even though, I think Floyd will win, Marquez is no push-over.

when has marquez ever fought for just a payday? the guy gives it his all anytime he steps in the ring. hes a soldier not a mercenary. the guy thinks he can win just like any fighter who truly believes he is the best.

Another excellent point that is being lost in all of this Floyd-hating.

Marquez is a boxer that is as skilled as anyone that Floyd has faced. And he is a proud fighter who won't be anyone's pushover. I don't think he has what it takes, but you gotta give him respect for trying.

It's funny, Marquez will make at least 50 times what he did when he travelled to Chris John's back yard by fighting Floyd. No exaggerating, either- I think he only got paid about 30 grand for that.

I don't believe JMM would take this fight solely for the cash, but I can assure you it made it that much easier to take it completely on Floyd's terms!
