And yet he signed Berto who tested positive for illegal substance... His partner 50 cent is a known steroid user... Talking about double standard...
Victor Conte, Berto's nutritionist, served up the explanation that it's possible that it was a trace contamination that made Berto test positive. There's no way that Berto would intentionally take nandrolone as it's the longest lasting steroid known to man. People were still in doubt of Berto and the Ortiz rematch was scrapped for next month. Now, according to ***********.com, Berto's positive test for nandrosterone (nandrolone metabolic byprodcut) revealed ultra-trace amounts of nandrolone in low parts per trillion range, which most likely proves it was a trace contamination. In other words, it's such a small amount that it's reasonably logical to assume that he didn't intentionally use nandrolone. This backs what Conte has been saying about it most likely being a trace contamination from food or supplements and bolsters Berto's claim of innocence. The damage is already done, though, as Berto's image is undoubtedly injured and the Ortiz rematch is already off.
I didn't say it proved it, I don't know whether he cheated or not, what I am saying is that it has been claimed the traces were very minute that contamination could very well be the answer. For all I know berto could be a drug cheat, but then again he could also be innocent. I would like to see the court case or whatever happens from here on in, before I choose to crucify berto anymore.
The main argument for Berto's innocense is perhaps that it was Nandrolone (a metabolite). It has a history of surprising positives.
i understand all of that man heres the problem with...that excuse (which is what it is) is the same excuse by EVERYONE that has ever tested positive. i think it was bull**** to call off this fight over that. if they let guys come in with a weight advantage such as broner did, gatti previously, jl castillo vs coralles II ect, then cancelling a fight because of miniscule traces of something that draws a postitive result , there has to be something else to it
Floyd Fans... When Berto got caught: Bitchass cheat. See, this is why the sport needs cleaning up. My boy, Money, was right all along. When Berto signed to TNT: Getting caught with steroids doesn't prove anything. Contamination, man. Contamination. Berto's innocent.
50 Cent is not a boxer, and Berto was caught from OSDT that he requested; the same sort of testing that Mayweather wants standard in the sport. I fail to see the issue here.
