    Brother Goat, if, on the night of the fight, Ortiz comes to the ring as a tree, and Floyd beats him, I will gladly admit my miscalculation.

    I think the ring walk is going to tell us everything we need to know about Ortiz.. (ie, does he come to the ring as a tree, etc)

    Floyd isn't fighting a prime Ortiz, he's waiting until Ortiz gets chopped down and has lost all his roots. See Ortiz is talking in code 'they said, you can't beat him...you don't even have parents man' - they're saying Ortiz can't win because someones chopped him down and now he's dying without his roots. Floyd's picking a dying man I mean tree, a dying tree

    I'm with you here. The problem is that trees tend to have trouble against slick fighters. The complete lack of ability to move means Ortiz won't be able to throw punches while Floyd is feinting. If you don't believe me, check out Ortiz-Peterson, where he couldn't throw punches whenever Peterson wasn't basically standing right in front of him. As a second example, check out the fight by fellow tree Jeff Lacy. As soon as he fought someone who could actually move (Calzaghe), he basically froze up and couldn't throw punches.

    Slicksters will beat up trees every time. Floyd's only real concern here is that he doesn't break his hand on the bark and that he can get out of the way if a branch is about to fall on his head.
