A lot of you guys seem to justify Maidana's blatantly dirty tactics by arguing that Floyd is also dirty.....sorry but I got to disagree with that. I don't know what you guys consider dirty but Floyd using his elbow to push off or get space does not qualify as dirty. Let's look at dirty fighting and see where Floyd fits in:

I have never seen Floyd throw rabbit punches to the back of his opponents head. I have never seen Floyd throw a nut punch or low blows that puts his opponents down till they recover. I have never seen Floyd tackle or knee an opponent. I have never seen Floyd intentionally headbutt an opponent, I have never seen Floyd bite an opponent ala Mike Tyson... I have never seen Floyd initiate wrestling or excessive holding to make up for his lack of boxing ability...

As a matter of fact Floyd is one that I would call a clean fighter in the ring, he is more of a dirty fighter out of the ring, Floyd once was vicious when it came to disrespecting his opponents during the promotioms...there he has hit under the belt, like what his said about Corales, Gatti, Oscar, Hatton, and even Manny Pacquiao...but in the ring Floyd is a got damn gentleman. There is no way his elbow is dirty, he is not swinging it like a weapon he uses it to strong arm his opponents but that is not illegal or dirty!

He's not an overtly dirty fighter. He's subtle and does use his forearm in a thrusting motion to make distance or try and measure

He turns dirty under pressure, throws elbows, holds and uses forearms to the face.

I expect more of that from him this weekend.

His elbow is one of the dirtiest tactics going.

He's not the dirtiest, he's also not the cleanest.

When he uses the forearm in the clinch I think it could be termed as 'illegal but not egregious'. It does stunt the opponents offense by forcing them to reposition before they can throw. He also uses it to hide the right hand that he throws when stepping back from a clinch.

Again, not exactly squeeky clean and not exactly Bernard Hopkins either.

46 fights, 46 fights in America with 46 American referees helps in that regard.

You have to be kidding. I know you are a "die hard" Floyd fan, but hell man, you need to open both eyes.

Really, you cant see the low blows and elbows from Floyd in these highlights alone?

Agreed, Maidana is a damn dirty fighter. But if you applaud Floyd for the constant elbows, head pushing and low blows he throws discretely, you are the exact fan i think you are.

He hasn't been deducted a point, however he has been warned multiple times.

Just because he hasn't been cited for it, doesn't mean it isn't happening.

He's also been known to hold and hit, especially on the inside. But it's done in a grab and release motion, which makes the tactic less visible to an official- and more effective as a result.

Floyd's victories over Hatton and Maidana were textbook, no I dont see any fouls at all but I do see you reaching for anything to label dirty

Even if his team jump in the ring it wouldn't even cross their mind about disqualifying.
