You think Floyd beat Hatton because of his elbow and forearms?! If that's the case then Hatton should of won easy cause he used all that and more against Floyd! Yet Hatton still got KTFO!!
Depends on your interpretation of what a "dirty fighter" is. If it's a guy who constantly headbutts, than no he's not. If it's a guy who has a tendency to throw low blows/kidney punches/shots to the back of the head, than again no he's not. But he does employ some "veteran" tactics in the ring, specifically when he tries to make space he'll use his forearm and place it on the upper chest/lower neck region of his opponent. This is something he's done for almost his entire career although he didn't do it much at all when he campaigned at SFW. He's crafty with that move and almost always utilizes it when the referee is on the opposite side of him so that they can't really see it. That forearm maneuver can absolutely be considered a dirty tactic. Some refs give him warnings for it and than he pretty much will stop using it for the remainder of the fight. But usually the refs don't call him for it in most of his fights, so why wouldn't he continue to use it? Anyway, in the grand scheme of things, I wouldn't consider him to be a dirty fighter at all. There's countless amounts of boxers from the past and today that are MUCH dirtier than Mayweather.
You say cherrypicks but I dont see anything easy about his opponents, if Alvarez, Maidana, Guerrero are easy fights then I guess Floyd must be f*kin great!
There is a difference between holding/clinching & holding someone's arm at an uncomfortable angle to hurt the arm/shoulder. Ive had this happen to me in sparring and got shoulder impingement. To tell me that is clean, that is bullsh1t. Go back, watch some of his fights (ie Castillo) and watch how he holds the oppositions arm. He skill fully turns away from the ref and bends the arm so the elbow turns. It is damn uncomfortable. As for the elbows/forearms, really? he rarely does it huh? Go back to the previous post of mine where his elbows in 3 fights have been documented. The videos are more than a minute or so long, of just elbows and forearms to the throat. I will never say he is as dirty as Maidana, as Maidana is one of the biggest dogs out right now. However, Floyd is not a clean fighter, far from it. He is an intelligent fighter who knows how to play the game, including fouling. To say Floyd "is not a dirty fighter" is obtuse.
atsch Wow you must not count elbows and forearms to the face and throatatsch Floyd's not DIRTY but he will and has broken rules MR Stevie Wonder:roll: :smoke
