Freddie Roach, says Mayweather was a more dangerous fighter when he was younger. He points to Mayweather's legs, stating the boxer can't move as much as he used to several years ago.

But Roy Jones agrees that Mayweather has slowed down in certain areas, but those declines have made Mayweather dig deep and use some of his other talents - like power punching.

“The fact that he can't do things at 38 that he did at 28 makes him more dangerous,” Jones said. “He's always been a great puncher, but he's never had to use it because he was so much better than everyone skillfully, and he had so much athleticism that he hasn't had to depend on his punching power.”

"Pacquiao may think he'll be able to outwork him and not worry about (Mayweather's) power because he hasn't had to use it. Now that he's gotten older he will use his power, and that's going to be a bigger problem for Pacquiao. Because, to me, the only way for him to beat Pacquiao is to get him out of there.”

Emanuel Steward (RIP) used to say Floyd would be a more dangerous fighter if he would decide to sit down his punches on a more regular basis.

Ive never seen so many people get up and leave a fight that was only half way through because they were stinking out the place.
Floyd TBE??? ROFLMAO He had the talent but lacked the cojones to make full use of those talents. What a waste:patsch

You're backing up what I said. Thank you.

Steward felt Floyd would be more dangerous if he sat down on his punches more often. And in the Baldomir fight in particular, he felt Floyd could have really put a hurt on Baldomir instead of just dancing around. Steward didn't feel Baldomir was a threat either way, and would have likely instructed Mayweather differently in the corner to "try and close the show."

It's not a question on how great he punches. It's a question on how long his brittle hands will last.
