I will admit that probably no one can beat him at 130. However, he's not unbeatable in all the other weight classes he's fought when you look at all the boxers in the history of the sport. Duran beats him at 135 Prime Pacquiao beats him at 140 Sugar ray Leonard beats him at 147 Tommy Hearns beats him at 154
You only listed fighters from a different era (nice list) my only question is what about current competition I. E.: who was active to be around in his era who would've beaten him? Except for Manny Pacquiao which you alluded to.
Thing about being as good as Floyd or Pac is that you can only speculate. At 147 and 154 he wasn’t prime yet you are comparing him to two of the best fighters of all time at those weights. Of course he’d be the underdog. As for Pac, Duran and Jcc you can only speculate and he’d probably be the favorite. Remember at 135 he had good power.
147: DLH, SRL, SRR, Hearns, Walcott, Griffith, Kid Gavilan, Bud Crawford. 140: Pac that fought Hatton at 140, Kosta Tsyzu, Pryor, Benitez, Pernell Whittaker, JCC Sr, DLH, Bud Crawford 135: JCC Sr, Duran, Ike Williams, Benny Leonard, Henry Armstrong, Arguello, Mosley, Joe Gans Floyd may very well be the best JLW/130lber ever. He would need a few fights to cement that but its definitely possible. When people say Floyd is "TBE" they really show how shallow of a boxing fan they are. Floyd is an ATG - no question - and I think he rightfully sits in the TOP 25 EVER. But please give the TBE stuff a rest. He loses to fighters at every weight between 135-154...no fighter in history of sport goes undefeated against that lineup. Floyd wins more than he loses but the TBE chanting is so childish and really reaks of insecurity. ...in saying that Floyd very well may be TBE 130lber ever.
Floyd is still beatable at 130. The only fighter who I consider "unbeatable" at a weight class is Ricardo Lopez at 105. A combination of Lopez being great and that division being very weak historically.
This is just in response to people who think no one can ever beat him and that hes an invincible god. Also remember the first castillo fight at 135? JCC and duran are not great matchups for him
even then maybe JCC sr beats him at 130? Thats a big maybe btw. But thats just one person so thats fine. He is for sure an ATG and top 20 but I dont think hes TBE.
We all have our opinions but I think picking Pac over Mayweather at 140 because of the Hatton fight is a reach.
It certainly is possible. To be clear I do have Mayweather h2h number 1 at 130. He's just not unbeatable. Someone like Saddler could be a problem for him. Saddler is extremely skilled, very dirty, has the reach advantage which Mayweather wouldn't be used to and is the hardest puncher at 130. I wouldn't favor Saddler over Mayweather but it is enough of a concern that I wouldn't call Mayweather unbeatable at 130 and there a few other guys at 130 that could pose similar level of problems.
