From a strategic standpoint its actually very smart..why take the abuse in several fights when you can take the abuse and spoils in only 1 fight.....

ATG or NOT... Floyd is not a happy person. He said it does not care about being a legend and it's all money, but when you see him talking he is always mad and on the defensive. He will regret not fighting the challenges and getting the respect that he so desparately need inside him.

floyd is a talented boxer. but he knows his limits and he knows who he can beat and who can beat him - hence the multiple duckings in his welterweight duration.

he lacks the confidence to put himself against the best. he really doesn't want to fight Pacquiao but everyone including HBO is on his CON now and he has nowhere to hide.

he already used every excuse in the book to duck Cotto, margarito and mosley, even used a faked retirement, now he has to face Pacquiao - or he will completely expose himself as a coward.

we are going to find out what floyd is really about in the ring with Pacquiao. IF he doesn't let his inner coward prevail and somehow duck the fight, such as by blaming the venue or something absurd. dont run and hide floyd, stand up and box Pac.

I agree with all this plus I'll add what I've been beating into the ground: Floyd has not proved his greatness as a welterweight like he has in previous divisions. His most proven division(where I consider him an ATG) is at 130, with strong arguments to support such at 135 and 140(moreso at 135 than at 140) At those divisions he notched more meaningful wins than he has at 147(though things start to get fuzzy at 140 due to the fact that he opted for bigger money for the PPV fight with popular but outgunned Gatti as opposed to the far more dangerous Tszyu. He couldn't help that Cotto and Hatton's people wanted nothing to do with him there)

At 147 his wins are solid but not the stuff needed to support the lofty claims he has of being the best welterweight out there much less the best one of all time. His skills are so great that he has to do better than the Mitchells, Judahs, Baldomirs and Hattons(only one of them was a legitimate welterweight at that) who all had innate flaws that doomed them to never have a chance against him. Plus there were greater challenges there for the taking that would easily be seen as better replacements for any of the names mentioned above. You have to truly gamble to be an ATG in any weight class and at 147 Floyd has been betting low and sure.

:rofl Are you serious. So now do we rank Leon Spinks ahead of Ali? How bout Forrest over Mosley? Ruiz over Holyfield? Hearns over Duran? Love the logic. No matter how it looks, this is a much bigger win for the smaller Pac than it would be for Floyd.:thumbsup

Its not about hoping one person cleans out the division. Its about people becoming PPV attractions. Even if 3-4 opponents were all fighting each other and beating each other. If they were ALL PPV attractions PBF would probably fight all 3-4 and collect big money for each fight. If none of them are PPV attractions then he will allow one of them to hopefully rise to the top of those ranks become that PPV attraction and then fight PBF in a mega fight.

Even though Pac defeated Cotto. The only reason why a Cotto-PBF isn't as interesting anymore is because Cotto looks shot, not because he lost. If it was a close fight that could have gone any way then Cotto vs PBF would still be a hot sell today.

Sure Mayweather retired for 2yrs. But Margo, Cotto, Williams were all young. If they couldn't maintain there status for 2 measly yrs as young as they are then they just weren't that good to begin with. Mayweather retiring for 2 yrs should have no effect on these fighters being able to stay a the top and stay in the fight demand picture for PBF.

Don't blame PBF for retiring for 2yrs. Blame Margo and Cotto for not being able to live up to the hype at quality ages of 27-29 yrs old.

Fight the legit WWs?, I see so many ******s here keep mentioning the legit welterweights, who the **** are they?, Collazo and Clottey?

Let's take a look at Pacquiao's legit WW resume:

DLH - Originally JMW moving down, last time he fought at that weight was nearly 10 years before the Pac fight

    Cotto - former Jr. WW

The only welterweight worth fighting right now is Mosley and even he is 39 years old. So you can give people the "legit WWs" bull****, noobs will enjoy it and won't have an answer to it, to me that's a load of bull**** started by concreto in an attempt to get all the Featherweights to Jr. Welterweights to move up and fight him in his attempt at old school glory, according to ******ed fans here who bought that junk.

You can't find true challenges on his resume?, you do know that 2 out of Pac's last three fights are guys Mayweather already beat, right?

If Mayweather was to fight guys Pac beat he will be called a fraud by the likes of you. If Mayweather has no challenges what's all the fuss with Pac about lately?
