Floyd is Right! Too Many Belts!

Floyd is saying what almost every single boxingfan is saying for decades now. But the reason he himself didn't become undisputed at Welter himself wasn't because he didn't get the chance, he didn't want to fight Brook (IBF) for the undisputed title after beating Pac, and fought Berto instead.

 

Why can't we just have 1 belt for each division? Whoever's the best gets the belt, simple as.

Too often we've seen people like Stiverne and Martin get belts despite being no where near the best in the world.

Also it means that the champion would have no choice but to fight the best, rather than just the rank 1 contender in that particular belts rankings.

It would also mean that the title fights mean a lot more.

It is an unregulated sport. Add in big money and There is no changing this cause there is to much money involve. None of the nicely paid leadership of the organization will ever give up their position. Add in the corruption (questionable ranking , questionable decision, special rule for champs to not fight #1 contender, special treatment of popular fighters , special TV deals for the organization ) and fighter went lookIng for an organization that will benefit them.

I’d like to add Floyd is only complaining now cause of the lineal issue. He sure didn’t care when he was active.

Im surprised we don't have a Gucci , Prada or some luxury brand belt with all the belts we have now.

Fine what Floyd is saying true, however why didn't he voice his opinion back when he was holding four belts in two weight classes? He didn't mind having any possible advantage he could have.

 

Yes mate I agree it's a lot easier to vent your opinions when you've made your $$$'s but fair goes to the fella he spoke out against the **** heads , he could have just said nowt .

As ideal as it would be to be one champion there's nothing that's going to stop the creation of more ABC's, weight classes, etc. It's a business, and as long as someone thinks they can get a piece of the pie or do it better they are gonna create their own ABC's as well.

The only thing you can do is rate the guys who are fighting the best of the best. Guy's who win the lineal championship or RING championship.

That's why I respect Pacquiao and Mayweather because they won the lineal titles in multiple weight classes.

 

The funny part about this is the WBO president didn't even try to argue it. Instead he responded by saying "how else are we going to make money?"
