Personally I don't think it's good that he's training this close to the fight. He should be resting his body IMO. But I'm not 41-0 and I've heard of him doing this in the past and it never seemed to affect him negatively before.

Mayweather has done this in the past. There is a video on youtube of him training 3 days befor the De la Hoya fight.

He def. did not look his best in the DLH fight. He won but people blow that win out of proportion. Look at his face at the end of that fight. DLH did swole his eyes up a bit.

Do you think it's wise for fighters to do this no matter how good their recovering ability is?

If it aint' broke don't fix it, I guess you could say, but I know most experts will tell you to get that rest.
On the contrary though, Floyd made a comparison:

You don't train 7 weeks and shoot every day for 3 point shooting contest and then stop after 6 weeks and rest one week before and go to the contest.

Good point but the analogy is comparing apples to oranges. Basketball players don't have to get hit and even exert that much energy just shooting alone. Boxing is a much tougher sport physically and mentally and there is a breaking point. I wouldn't have a problem with a boxer shadowboxing or hitting the speed/heavybag a day before but flat out hard sparring/training the day before could be putting yourself a risk to be injured.

Sparring is usually done a week before the fight sometimes longer.

I agree with all of that. At the most, I would shawdow box and hit the mitts 3 days before a fight
