Floyd Jr. is deff a very good fighter with GREAT skills. To be the best, ya gotta fight the best IN YOUR DIVISION.
Falling short sometimes happens when you fight the best. Who has Floyd beaten in the top 100 ATG? (not past it Oscar).
When Void signed to fight Marquez, that did it for me. I want nothing to do with such a fake bunch of bullcrap.
There isn't a fighter from this era you can claim is the best without someone countering and suggesting there favourite fighter of this era is better. Mayweather Jnr, is an undefeated, unbelievably talented fighter who can beat anyone he is put in the ring with...hard to argue against him, but it would be hard to argue with Pac, Hopkins, Jones Jnr, Calzaghe to even the Klitchskos. It depends what you like, a guy coming thru the weight divisions and destroying former greats, a man beating age to destroy an undefeated younger fighter, an undefeated and rapid fighter who went down but would never be kept down or the most dominant, unbeatable fighters in a division year in, year out. The fact is there are great fighters, there are good fighters as well as a lot of bad ones but one thing nobody will ever agree on is who is the best. It is the same for the best ever, nobody can decide because it depends what you like in your fighter from Ali to Robinson, it's only your favourite, not the true greatest.
I feel Hopkins has a clear edge. At his peak he was of a similar standard of ability, and his resume is clearly stronger.
Floyd is the best, and most consistant of any fighter over the last 20 yrs. I never seen a fighter with a run like this without taking a loss ... I would put him in the category of a Leonard tyep fighter.
