Hey didn't you once start a thread with a 50/50 split poll? I think now would be a good time to bump that.

He has yet to fight a world class fighter who's still in their prime. That should tell everyone something about the guy.

he doesn't have to say he is scared for his health and talk for ali that ali would do the same thing that he is doing now (avoiding a risky competition) if ali knew he would get parkinsons.

there's a reason why floyd is adamant of accusing pacquiao of using PEDs and it's not only because of money.

yes. the result was skewed because people still blame arum even if floyd rejected the 50/50 split. now that floyd is saying that he fears for his health when fighting pacquiao, i am thinking of making a new one.

I don't like Floyd Mayweather, but being fair I couldn't call him "The biggest joke in Boxing". Anyone in the "Know" should know that Bob Arum is the joke, and the one ultimately keeping this thing from happening. While there should be some level of accountability on BOTH fighters, Arum has done his best to see to it that this doesn't happen unless everything goes the way HE wants it to go. His pissing match with Mayweather and anyone not under Top Rank is the real saboteur here.

Mayweather is doing what Mayweather does best, run his big f*****g mouth, and that should be expected. I think a 50/50 split is more than fair here and whether Floyd says so in public or not that he won't take 50/50, I think we all know that at the end of the day he most certainly will. It will be the biggest payday of both mens careers and the highest grossing fight of all time, realistically no one looses here with that in mind. Looking back, do you think that either Tommy Hearns or Ray Leonard were losers for fighting one of the most anticipated fights of all time? No, regardless of who actually won or lost they made history and put on one of the greatest fights of all time, no one loses there. So what is Mayweather, Pacquiao, or anyone else involved really have to be afraid of? Not making history or more money than they've ever seen? That's a given.

At the end of the day it comes down to legacy for Floyd Mayweather, money for Bob Arum, and unquestioned greatness for Manny Pacquiao. That's each mans stake. I've never seen anyone so scared of the number "1" in all my life like Mayweather. If he is so worried about having that "1" on his record he should do himself and everyone involved a favor and quit acting like he's serious about fighting Pacquiao so we can end the speculation. If Bob Arum is so worried about not getting a gazillion dollars out of this fight, he needs to just make the damn fight and stop putting up road blocks to protect his investment in Pacquaio before it's too late and the fight is truly out of reach. If Pacquiao truly wants to show his unquestioned greatness against Floyd Mayweather, he needs to put the pressure on Arum to stop ****ing around and get the deal done. We've all been demanding this fight and impatiently waiting. This is the only fight boxing fans truly want to see. The longer they keep it from happening with politics and negotiations, the more that the sport of boxing is what comes out looking like the real joke in the end.

Yeah and he earned that right. Thats his whole point he worked his ass off in the sport of boxing to get to the point where he has the control. This is what happens in any business.

This is right on the money, no pun intended.

This has been Mayweather's modus operandi for years. He's always caught guys on the downside of their careers, coming off of big loses, earlier in their careers before they developed into better fighters, and has always made sure he has the upper hand in any situation. He doesn't fight someone unless he is convinced in his own mind that he can beat them and there is little to no risk involved. Bottom line is, Mayweather is scared to death of Pacquiao for that very reason.

You know why he's talking about "Putting his health at risk"? Because he's still haunted by the way Pacquiao ICED Ricky Hatton and left him a man with a million woes after his defeat, and he's scared to death that Pacquiao could do the same to him. Hatton suffered brain damage from that fight if I remember correctly and hasn't been the same ever since, he's still dealing with the trauma of such a devastating defeat and the side effects of taking such devastating blows. Mayweather knows that if he could do that to Hatton, he can do that to him too. Look at the Margarito fight as well. Pacquiao demolished Margarito, a much bigger and very tough opponent that Mayweather probably would never have stepped in the ring with because of that size advantage and toughness. He watched Pacquiao mutilate that guy too and see's imminent destruction when he sees Pacquiao.

This all comes back full circle to him not being absolutely positive in his mind that he can win, and being very afraid of getting knocked out. Look back at Mayweather-Mosley. While that fight turned around drastically after Mayweather made his adjustments in the 3rd round, don't forget that in the first two rounds Mosley was beating Mayweather, and in the 2nd he caught Mayweather clean enough that had Mosley not been there for him to grab on to, Mayweather was going to the canvas. Don't think for a second this doesn't weight on Mayweather as well. He has to know, if Mosley at 39yrs of age was able to rock him like that, Pacquiao will level him. So there is this element of doubt and fear lingering with Mayweather and I believe that is his sole motivator for both wanting the fight and trying to postpone it as long as he could. He wasn't jumping at Pacquiao like he has recently until he the moment he thought Pacquiao was slipping, ala the Marquez fight. Now he thinks Pacquiao might have lost just enough of a step, just enough hand speed, taken just enough damage, that the timing is right. Timing has always been a big factor with Mayweather. We will see if his instincts are correct, but I think he will be sorely surprised.

yeah, its always, poor me, poor me. my father used to beat me, my mother was on drugs etc. than when another dude (ortiz) tells his story and sad childhood, than all of the sudden floyd says:" 24/7 is too much about ortiz story, why it is so? every black kid came up with no father etc."

basicly he wants all the credit in the world, but when another gets the hype (pacquiao pr jeremy linn) than it is no good.

Come the **** on guy, he is talking as if he would go bankrupt by fighting pac on a 50/50 split. His whole case around the subject is completely irrational, it just doesnt make sense. Why is the "highest paid athlete in sports" worried about the other guy's share when he will still be making the biggest purse in his career.
