Exactly, people don’t understand the business at all if they think this was anything other than a fixed show.

There was only ten pounds difference, Tenshin gets kicked in the face and takes punches with little gloves. An untrained feather fisted retired fighter with boxing gloves sends him flying across the ring with glancing punches to the top of his head.
It wasn’t real in the slightest, obviously. Anybody who thinks otherwise.. I have some stuff to sell to you.

And if there was any doubt "Mayweather wrote that he was under the impression that the fight was meant to be an entertaining exhibition " This was what Mayweather said leading up to the fight. When he called it of , then the fight was back on again. Floyd's own comment leaves no doubt in my opinion.

Your points are contradictory. He’s expected to lose but takes a hit to his brand? Despite it not being his sport, despite it being an exhibition with no winners or losers, despite the fact that he was suddenly introduced to the world by this opportunity? It makes far less sense for the fight not to be thrown, because Floyd wouldn’t have agreed to that risk in the first place.

All we have to do is think for half a second people, it’s not a hard riddle to figure out.

So he lost in a boxing match. This doesn't hurt one bit. This is an easy spin. He dared to be great by fighting in a sport he doesn't compete in. He also fought a larger, stronger, and experience undefeated fighter. Rizin got a huge audience to tune in.
They will prop up the kid in his comeback. The kids vows to do better. Shows humility and the people of Japan will eat that crap up.

They learned that losing a boxing match does not hurt. Didn't hurt Mcgregor one bit. His next MMA event he sold 2 million PPV.

Exactly, Floyd has all but admitted that it’s a scripted show. The dancing, the not training at all for it, the constant talk about entertainment, having fun in Japan etc. And then we want to pretend that it was an actual fight, even after the poor acting performance by the Japanese kid?
Why was Floyd saying that Tenshin is a hell of a fighter after the fight? He was on a promotional tour for an event.
I can’t believe people can be this dumb. I guess we’re on a boxing forum and we all take our sport so seriously. Floyd doesn’t take the sport seriously, obviously. He’s a businessman and you have blind boxing nerds like IB with no sense of that because they are so insecure about ‘sports’ reputations, so they project that onto the Japanese side. It’s Japanese entertainment, it’s drama, it’s making money. It’s not a heart and blood multi generational culture of pride and history.
It was a silly show with bad acting, anybody thinking otherwise needs to develop themselves.

Of course I don’t. I look at the facts and weigh up the probability. You’re on the irrational side here, your blind love for boxing has got your brain muddled up here. Just think about it for a second.

    /end thread.
Why people can’t think this through and then watch the laughable ‘fight’ to come to the logical conclusion, to what is clearly evident, beats me.

So for those of you who thought it was fake, how would the fight have looked if it was real?

And: how do you account for Tenshin finding the free time somehow in the midst of his active career in kickboxing to pull off a VASTLY more convincing and lifelike "acting job" (including eating flush punches that you can plainly see connecting) of getting his ass kicked than literally any professional wrestler, ever?

I think people saying it's staged have probably never taken a clean shot to the temple from a slightly aged (Not as old as some active fighters) p4p international superstar. I don't know much about Rizin but I would imagine they don't cover a great amount of mma fighters. So it is highly probable a young kickboxing prospect contracted to this promotional company would have his ass whooped by a only recently retired multi weight work champion who's probably over a stone heavier; but that is only my humble opinion of course

Probably how it looked when Tenshin countered with the overhand left and threw the combination to the body. Outworked Floyd for a points decision.
