Who on Mayweather's resume (when Mayweather fought them) would you favor over Crawford?

Mayweather already struggled against Maidana, De La Hoya, and Castillo. You think those guys are physically special?

Yes Crawford did beat Spence. But in retrospect that really doesn't move the needle in this fantasy match up.

First, Spence was past his prime. Second, Spence was overrated and overhyped. Decent fighter, but very far from elite.

What does Spence actually do well? Hes a pretty good body puncher, but other than that, nothing he does is all that inspiring.

Spence is slow. Doesn't have big power. Has lead feet and slow reflexes. Makes technical mistakes. Doesn't have a super high workrate.

What exactly is the appeal here? Besides be an American with a large ethnic following to exploit by the promotional suits?

Because I feel like it? Because it lends events a sense of formality and gravitas? The better question here is why does it bother you? It's a really weird thing for you (and everybody who does so) to complain about instead of just...ignoring.

De La Hoya was certainly better than the other two but, to your point, no, they did not have a particularly special physical gift. They also lost to Floyd five times in total which makes my point.

I'll give you an A for effort, for looking them up, but who really cares what their middle name is?

I only care about what the fighters grandmas maiden name is.

Going full hipster on this one: Crawford wins at 147, Floyd wins at 135, even at 140. Maybe edge towards Bud.

Need to see more of Crawford at 154 to form an opinion.

People are free to care or not. It's weird to be so bothered about it that you complain, though...like I said.

I like it. So do some others, who've adopted the practice (ie @CST80, @Chuck Norris, and many more). Again, you're free to just ignore the offensive middle names.

If they were at all needed than the ring announcers would include them in their introductions.

Chuck Carlos Ray Norris? The actor?

    Floyd 8-4 is my guess
His defence, accuracy, movement and timing makes the difference

Floyd was technically very special. I know he rubs people up the wrong way and was a diva later on, but his ability and work ethic can't be denied. I bet he is still in the gym every day, it's all he knows

Roy Jones was the best fighter I've seen in my 35 years, but Floyd was the most technical and complete. Sweet pea is also up there

That's a lovely turn of phrase to describe it.
