They'll miss him when he's gone and the nostalgia kicks in....like every other controversial athlete. I mean is there seriously an athlete who was controversial on his time that isn't remembered fondly?

Many people may not like him but that doesn't take anything away from his boxing career. He's rich, he's relatively heathy, he's an ATG, and a 1st ballot hall of famer. Save your pity for someone who actually deserves it. Floyd will always be considered a success whether you like him or not. Move on.

The dislike stems from two simple reasons:

    1) He has sold the 'TBE' lie to fatten his following.

    2) Having got your attention (and money) he fights purely to win, nothing else, to keep 'TBE' alive.

Floyd use to put on displays but since occupying the driving seat in negotiations he has given us less for more. He has no personality to impart, continually telling us to "buy PPV" or that his team have done a "helluva job." This endless corporate massaging is unsightly. Tyson's style was exciting but he also spoke his mind. Floyd is a broken record of catchphrases. One of them is to "give the fans what they want" which he scarcely does. He is a record of broken promises.

And when you don't do as you preach charges of domestic violence are going to be waved like banners.

It's all been too calculating from this special talent who has not only distanced himself from the fans but created a legacy which has a lot in common with his Money shtick - numbers don't mean everything.

    Disrespects former greats like Ali

    Produces no KO's

And his persona rubs people the wrong way ..What did Hatton say what good is it if your the best boxer in the world but your a d.i.c.k. head !

Race has nothing to do with it in this country only ignorant people beleive race is the reason.

    Nothing to do with race
If you constantly act like a **** and flash your cash then why should people like you
Act normal lead and don't flash it in people's faces and people might like him more

He's arrogant full of **** and talks **** so why should u like him

Please tell us more Captain Obvious. A boxer that fights to win. Now that's a first.

I really do wonder if some of these so-called boxing fans actually pay attention to what physical gifts fighters have. It's easy for a guy like Tyson to say how he tried to kill his opponents. He had the power to finish a fight at any given second. But take away his one punch KO power away and give him brittle hands and I guarantee Tyson wouldn't have lasted half the time he did last. And that can be said for a lot of these guys that were happy to jump into a brawl. Anyone thinks it was always just to please fans is complete B.S.

You can break down any fighters resume in this fashion, including Floyd's rival, Manny. It's been done on here dozens of times. It's a cheap attempt at appearing as if someone understands the sport, when it really only highlights their disdain for a fighter.

It's an emotional response, like that of a woman.

    Racism + Floyd's nasty attitude.

Loved champions like Ali and Tyson were able to get over the racism with likable personalities. Floyd is not interested in yielding to the media or middle american sentiments. I get the feeling Al Haymon is the same way, and that's why he smartly avoids the media.

Boxing is a billion dollar industry and it's controlled by African Americans right now. The best executive and boxer in the sport are AA. If you are confident about that it's going to lead to a lot of people hating you.
Think about how guys like Brian Kenny went from hating Mayweather to having to kiss his a$$ since he now generates the cash for their paychecks :smoke :hat :rasta
