After a year and half laid off. Floyd says he wants winner of pac/hatton, JMM, or shane mosely. Would it be a good move or potential disaster?
A year and a half isn't that long of a layoff. Hell, even before Floyd retired... he fought once, maybe twice, a year. Pac, Hatton, JMM, Mosley.. Floyd beats all of the above IMO.. he'd have the most problems with Mosley though..
Floyd could comeback from a 3 year layoff and it still wouldn't affect him much.. A master never loses its skills.. One soft touch tuneup and he's back... Or maybe he doesn't even need a tuneup but he'll probably take one just to make sure..
But boxer lose their skills over time. It's a fact of life. And when you are as fast and defensively gifted as Floyd, even a slight decrease in reflexes and speed could spell the difference between winning and losing. Now, this may not be the case and he'll return better than ever. He's still young. But to suggest that he immune to the inevitability of declining skills would be foolish.
Mayweather is a special fighter like a James Toney. Hes slick doesnt get hit much and knows how to pace a fight. He will always be able to come back and be successful as long as he gets himself into shape. Not sure Manny would be a good comeback fight only because of the pace at which he fights at might be a little too much first fight back.
Marquez and Mosley should have never opened there mouths!! lets see if one of them have the nuts to take the fight. Mosley has ducked him for years, and JMM should just shut up already. I hope its Marquez so he can take a beating for putting Mayweathers name in his mouth.
His comeback is good for boxing especially during these economic times and it will help revive boxing. If Pacman does win, Pacman vs Mayweather will undoubtely be (one of) THE highest PPV and one of the greatest matches in boxing history. Also, it was reported by Pacland, Max Boxing, ESPN, and The Ring that during Mayweather's 15 month psuedo retirement, he actually stayed in training....so he hasn't completely lost everything. Lots of sparring should do the trick to get his timing back. Anyways, lots of things have to fall through for Pacman and Mayweather. I do not wish for a Hatton rematch and it will be a damn shame if Mayweather loses his tune-up July 11th hehehehe.
