all the fights that floyd says he wants, or would want, are against guys that are either way, way out of their best weight divisions--which are are lighter divisions than floyd occupied even at the start of his career--or are at a state of progressive boxing decrepitude. i get it, some guys only want to make money in whatever is the easiest, least risky possible way. sure, most guys do, but it is hard to watch a guy with such athletic gifts, so much natural talent waltz around like a petulent child for most of his career with a terrible attitude, no appreciation for the fact that the only reason he can make big money barely fighting is that his fans paid to see him and watch him. i am not sure why he has so many fans, but he ought to be grateful for them. i don't buy that he has simply been "playing" the villiain angle to boost his revenues. he has seemed, and i have been forced to endure him since his amateur days, mostly like he just likes acting irresponsibly like a jerk. it's too bad. i think that if he is ever going to go get those fans and those top dollars he has been whining about for so long, he needs a tough tune-up against a legitimate opponent where there is no angle and a real world class championship clash with a dangerous opponent. let's say he has a tune-up against an unbeaten technician like yuriy nuzhnenko or against, or, if you want to take a step down the ladder because it is, after all, a tune-up someone like delvin rodriguez. then, and i assume, much to my frustration, floyd would handily beat any of those guys, i would like to see him fight cotto or clottey or williams...all guys who could, potentially, give him problems in different ways, for different reasons. much as it grieves me to admit it, i still think floyd is an easy pick against any of those guys, but i could believe they had a shot. most of the boxing fans i know would want to see those fights, real fights, at least. if he goes around again with hatton or fights manny pacquiao, he can complain about bias and whine about whatever he wants, he won't be getting my pay per view dollars.

If Mayweather returns in July or August, it won't be against Hatton-Pacquiao winner. He wants a tuneup (like his Sharmba Mitchell fight in the past), so probably he won't take Mosley or JMM on that fight.

I can imagine him fighting one of these: Joan Guzman, Joel Casamayor, Nate Campbell, Juan Urango, Junior Witter, Andre Berto, Sebastian Lujan, Carlos Quintana.
