U fail to take into account that certain fighters throw the jab as a range finder or simply to throw combinations or single power shots behind them.

Floyd is committed to throwing jabs but rarely follows up so he has to be accurate.

He also has been fighting smaller or older fighters and a jab can hold them off easier than the younger power type fighters he avoids.
You will see guys like Ortiz and certainly Manny won't reset from the jab and will be able to throw counter right hooks over his jab.
