Floyd was extremely comfortable at the press conference in DC. And I agree that the animosity between Shane and Floyd does not seem to be truly contentious. I think they do mutually respect eachother, I think Floyd has genuine respect for Brother Nazim as well, but I don't think Floyd is particularly worried about Shane.
Anyone see where they supposedly touched noses at the press conference in NYC? I never saw the contact and it seemed to me like Floyd is the one that started the shoving. Then in an interview he mentions that Shane grabbed his hands after they had touched noses, and reminds everyone Floyd "loves nothing but ladies." He frequently brings this up. What gives? It's like guys that will say, "I'm a big fan of Fighter A" and then add (no homo). It's peculiar when a person feels compelled to qualify a benign statement like this with a denial of homosexuality.
I have my doubts. Watch the Livestream (?) video again. Mayweather desperately avoids eye contact with Shane when doing his dissing. That's a cowardly act of a nervous man. True, Mayweather does the business in the ring, but on the stage, he comes across as the scared stuttering fool he obviously is. He can't hide that aspect of his personality, regardless of how brilliant he is in the ring. The drugs fiasco is reflective of that, no matter how you dice it. If his fear comes across while in the ring with Shane, he might very well get beat. Shane has a great opportunity to win if a tentative and safety first Floyd comes to fight.
You were doing OK until you started with this ***** ****. Why should it matter how big of a name someone is? If he goes in the ring and beats people, why shouldn't he get a shot at the bigger names? How does Clottey deserve a shot at Pac? Clottey is only a bigger name than Paul because Arum wanted to keep the money in house. Is that OK with you? Is that how boxing is supposed to be run? What if the NBA was like that? Then the Lakers could have told the Spurs "**** off, you don't have enough fans to try and get this trophy" a few years back.
same shyt different opponet every time he fights someone comes up with the bright idea to say he looks scared blah blah blah and then when he wins the fighter was old, short, uncomfortable at that weight, not fast enough, or my favorite he did good for a couple rounds he just is a B level fighter.
Friends, I must tell you that I was at the Mayweather-Marquez fight when Shane jumped in the ring at the end. The first thing that struck me was that Shane and Floyd are roughly the same size (Floyd actually looks slightly bigger - he certainly looked slightly bigger at the DC press conference). The second thing that struck me was when Floyd started getting serious with Shane and put his finger in Shane's face talking about "don't disrespect me, don't take my shine away, we play b-ball together, etc" - Shane became slightly apprehensive at the point, and these two signs solidified my thought that Floyd will beat Shane (based on confidence alone, not to mention the skill, age, defense, and precision punching factors. Also, I was at the press conference in DC, and Floyd was not intimidated one bit. In fact, very often he jeered at Shane and walked over to his side to annoy both he and Oscar (also, the crowd was VERY pro-Mayweather, so this added to his bravado). He was not uncomfortable at all!
Are you talking about today's press conference in DC? I thought Floyd was the most articulate guy on the podium. The thing is, he's delivering lines. This is a WWE event for him, an acting gig, and he knows the better he performs, the more money he'll make. If he avoids eye contact with Shane its probably just because it makes it harder for him to do his act. And its not like Shane is making any effort to intimidate right now. . . .at best, he's just trying to play along. I sensed legitimite confidence from Floyd . . .and he showed great ring generalship controlling the room today . . .Shane knows there's just one way to change that now . . . hurt him
