And of course, feasting off the likes of Ricky Hatton, Arturo Gattl, Henry Bruseles, Robert Guerrero, Marcos Maidana, and other assorted sh it, would tell you everything you would ever need to know about a guy with the nome de plume " El radar " wouldn't it?nut I mean he must be better because his name is Floyd Mayweather, and like Mike Tyson that is all that is required. Fuk the other guys, they simply don't count. If your name is either Tyson or Mayweather you just can not lose, ever, to any fighter who ever lived. What I would really like to hear, or read, is just one idiot fan boy explain to me where either Tyson, or the other fukking idiot Mayweather would ever grow a big enough pair of bollox to face either a prime Ali ( in Tysons case ) or Hearns with the other waste of space.
Cool, you don't like Floyd or his persona or his attitude. :good Doesn't shed an iota of light on whether Benitez has comparable (or better) talent or skill.
That's a lazy copout and you know it. And I'm not at all convinced that you've seen much Mayweather. I've seen plenty of Benitez. Saw him get completely outboxed by Leonard and dominated against Hearns. Saw him beat an overrated Palomino. Saw him take a very tight decision (not quite a robbery bc of the round system) against Bruce Curry(!!), in a fight that he was lucky didn't get stopped as he was basically out on his feet. I've seen a couple other fights of his too, I'm sure. Having watched all these performances, I haven't seen anything that leads me to believe that he has Floyd's skill set. If you disagree, please explain why. As I've said before, you clearly romanticize the guys from the Big 4 era as if they were complete immortals and treat modern guys way too dismissively. Fine if you're preaching to the choir, I guess, but transparent to those of us who disagree.
BTW, another topic but I think that Floyd and a bunch of the supposed-bums that Floyd beat would have also handled Palomino quite easily.
If you've actually watched the guy fight and this is your honest assessment then we can agree to disagree. Farood who you may know, said the following after his fight with Duran. "I was a big Palomino fan and... he just made him look like a novice," "Palomino was flinching when Duran would fake a punch. I had never seen that before. He maybe won one round. ''"I don't want to call Palomino a great fighter, but he was almost at that level." Palomino later said Duran and Benitez were the best defensive fighters I faced. As to boxing now verses then yes l think the fights were far better than they are now and l've been watching boxing for about 40 years, so take it for what it's worth. I don't even really classify the Mayweather Pac fight as much of anything never mind fight of the century. Pretty hard to compare it to Hagler Hearns wouldn't you say? But where you're mistaken is that l don't romanticize the older fighters it's actually the fights l care about. I'm actually sad that the fights aren't better and l'm watching Wlad Povetkin and people actually think that's boxing.
I'm definitely warming up to you, Foxy. And despite the seething hatred for Tyson - your posts aren't half bad. :good
Well just watched yet another Floyd fight. But honestly l don't find his safety first approach all that appealing. He should retire but l can't help thinking they'll still be another Pac rematch in the cards.
Ugh. Dude needs to hang em up. Don't let the door hit you where your crack splits you. GOOD RIDDANCE!!!
