Throw this ***** insult away for a second and engage your business knowledge if you have any.
We are talking about the risk reward factor here. The money being generated compared to the risk exposed.Arum has no belief Manny can beat Mayweather,it's a very risky fight, the probability to Arum is very little. You can tell from the way Clottey was signed and all these excuses they had.On the other hand Mayweather is making money in a fight he doesnt think is risky. The bookmakers do not even think this fight is close,it's more likely that Mayweather will beat Manny Pacquiao.Business people use probabilities to gauge risk. The only risk was the PEDS but once PEDS are subtracted Mayweather doesnt have second thoughts about it.He mitigated the risk.Standard Deviation here brother. To Arum,he will only have money from Manny say $20m,in a fight Manny's likely to lose,it's not worth it.If Arum was promoting Mayweather then he would have won both ways because he would have made money from Mayweather too.A loss for Manny would even be more profitable for Arum because that would hype a rematch and he would make money from both fighters again.

Manny's the one getting screwed here and sadly he doesnt know it because Konzc who is his 'advisor' actually works for Top rank, everyone else in Manny's camp is illiterate.

    Excellent post.
Arum is a POS who is robbing Manny blind. Just look at PBF's and Pac's purses vs common opponents.

Again the risk/reward factor goes both way. You made an assumption: Arum has no belief Manny can beat Mayweather. And then proceed to base your argument on that assumption.

Now I can do the same thing and assume Mayweather feels he himself has no belief he can beat Manny. That's why he called for random blood testing when no other fighter in history has demanded it to that extent, eventhough he said Manny would be an easy fight, has no skills, just a bar room brawler etc. Now common sense would tell you that if Manny was so easy, no amount of PEDs would give Manny enough of an edge to beat him. Not only that, but how great would it be to say he whooped Manny even while Manny was juicing?

To Floyd, he will get $60mil from a fight with Manny, it's not worth it. Once he loses, he has nothing else to go on because his ONLY claim to fame is his 0. After that is gone, who is going to want to watch him? So why not keep ducking Pac and fight other guys and make $30mil per fight? He can fight 4 more times for $30mil and cash out on Pac for $60mil.

I will agree Arum is robbing Pac blind but I believe even if Pac loses to Floyd, he can still make good money fighting. People like his fighting style and personality/ Floyd, on the other hand, if he loses won't be able to made good money. Again, his only claim to fame is the 0. People don't really like his fighting style or personality. He plays the bad guy and once the bad guy is beaten, people lose interest. So in that sense, the risk/reward for Floyd is greater.

You are stil wrong because you do not know the details of the actual arrangement between GBP, HBO, the broadcasters and PBF.

Like I said before and given to you by NY Times, PBF's arrangement, thus the whole event is not like regular boxing PPVs.
The broadcasters still gets a HUGE cut (like 40%-50%) and what is left is what is shared among GBP and PBF Productions.

So he is right, your math is closer to thin air than actual math.

1.3M buys is a disappointment for Floyd. Tha fact that the fight was on Mexican Ind. Day and they have Canelo as the co-main event. The MGM did not sell out and Floyd's PPV buys is declining.

No one knows the official buys yet, they were shooting for 1.4 though in the US. Plus Floyd gets 100% of all the international rights.

You are the only one who believes Manny will win this fight. The people who really matter, those who actually put money, stand to lose and gain money do not believe Manny has a chance. There's not a single bookmaker who believes Manny has a chance.Match makers use the same kind of analysis. As for the drug testing,Mayweather's not the first,Tyson demanded the tests when he fought Holyfield and there are other fighters who have done that before.

The boxing community is not a big one and a lot of people who work in boxing know what happens in these camps. One day they shout against each other and the next time they will be working with each other. You see how Cotto and Dawson have just left Steward's camp, what happens in that camp is already known by these 2 and they will share it with whoever they are working with next.Paulie Malignaggi now works out at Roach's gym yet he was always saying stuff against Roach. He knows staff in Roach's gym and what goes on in there.Toney used to work with Roach and also goes to Mayweather's gym a lot.He knows what happens in those gyms. What you dont know is 'the juicing allegations' didnt start last year. These have been known in boxing circles for a few years now, when Pacquiao was to fight DelaHoya. The people who supply say Manny also try to supply other fighters, and they use Manny as an example to show how effective their tablets work. This is how things move on.Also consider that the Mayweathers are always in boxing gyms, this is how they know when someone's struggling to make weight among other issues. For the past few years A British heavyweight has been known to be on steroids and masking agents but no one can come and say anything. If someone asks for tests it's not that they fear the fighter, they dont want to be cheated.Boxing has rules.

The economy has been shrinking, many people are unemployed and struggling to put food on the table.Ortiz has been an undercard fighter mostly and has no fans apart from his brother.

ON the other hand the promotion of this fight was phenomenal with a big budget. Is Floyd losing his appeal?Possibly, you cant be taking 2yr breaks and expect casual fans to remember you. There's something called momentum in business but I think this is more to do with bad economic times than appeal.

SO what does that have to do with anything? You think being from the USA is a qualification?Dont you know there are a lot of morons from the US.

What do you know about industry analysis and their mechanics? Also in these information age days are there any boundaries?Do you even know about globalisation and standardisation of culture?

    Pacquiao's PPV's is improving.

    Pac/Mosley > Pac/Margo

    Floyd/Ortiz < Floyd/Mosley

Mosley's a better known brand than Ortiz. Many people genuinely thought Mosley had a chance but really no one thought Ortiz had a chance apart from his blind sister.
Pacquiao-Mosley PPV numbers were never released, the numbers were so bad.No one knows those numbers because they were disappointing so there's no evidence to suggest his numbers are increasing.

Show me one link with the numbers after the fight and not just projections.

They don't have a choice, either its lose a major star to Showtime, Epix, etc. or the promoter might just finance the telecast card themselves. Bob Arum does it with Pinoy Power/Latin Fury.

I believe Floyd will be the favorite but to outright claim Pac doesn't have a chance is just dumb. What do you mean by not a chance...give me the odds to "not a chance"? 5-1? 10-1? 15-1? Even those are chances. My guess is the odds will be no more than 2-1.

I understand Tyson wanted Evander to have extra testing but did that ever go through? And name me these other fighters you speak of that took random blood testing up to the fight, give me names?

Fact is, I'm not the only one who thinks Pac will win. Actually, I believe Floyd is slightly favored 3-2. For every boxing expert or fan you can come up with that says Floyd will win, I can come up with another that says Pac will win. But one thing that's pretty much a fact is that most people are saying Floyd is ducking Pac. Very few are saying Pac is ducking Floyd. Why is that? If no one, besides me, believes that Pac will win, why do they believe Floyd is the one ducking?

My stance is still that Floyd has more to lose than Pac in your risk/reward argument. Who's legacy will it hurt more if he loses? Who's future earnings will hurt more if he loses? The answer is unequivocally, Floyd!
