I seriously doubt HBO took over 50% of PPV revenue.

 

Floyd made a guaranteed $25mil plus whatever ppv revenue he was intiitled too. So far the ppv #'s havent been released.

 

From my understanding, HBO gets half of all ppv revenue. Its their network and they do the entire production.

 

This is all I've heard that wasn't predictions. Little over a 90/10 split for Floyd 25mil to Ortiz 2.5 mil.... Then PPVs as well as the other **** Floyd's getting paid for. Smart business man fronting the money so he'd get a return on pretty much everything.

 

Actually, GBP takes a percentage. GBP is Floyd's promoter. Floyd does not have a license to promote fights in LV.

 

GBP is a co-promotor, you don't need a license if you are in partnership with a licensed one.

Also GBP has to compete with others, like Don King for the privilege of co promoting, which is why you saw Floyd with King a couple of months ago.

 

Ok, but for Floyd to say that he keeps 100% of his purse is not true. GBP receives a cut and so does his manager Al Haymon.

Al Haymon most likely gets a fixed monetary rate for his advisory, not a percentage of a purchase, aka he is an employee. GBP gets a percentage, because they usually represent the other fighter that Mayweather fights, so they get their fighter's cut like they always do, but that is between them and their fighter, not Floyd.

It is true but not the way you think it is.
PBF is a not boxer the GBP promotes like Khan. He is more like a business partner. They take from the same pool of money for earnings. But they also share the cost of the event. Unlike a regular fighter like Khan. He is paid a guarantee from GBP but does not share most of the event cost.

 

Depends on if Floyd used them for Co promotion or went it alone and decided to negotiate directly with Arum and the event was an Top Rank - Mayweather Co promotion.
