Good for all these guys who put their body on the line for our entertainment. I just hope they do not squander it like so many other people have done in the past. (Athlete and non-athlete alike) That kind of money can put your family in a good position to be successful for future generations.

I will never hate on another man's success. :nono

Shane is guaranteed 15 million for the fight regardless of PPV because he agreed to a take less from the events PPV numbers. If the fight does upwards of 1.5-2 mil buys.....yes PBF can make damn near 30 mil.

But PBF has tax issues dating back to 2003. And everyday they get bigger. He did make a settlement deal with the IRS according to reports, but if you don't meet the agreed upon time line then the interest just starts accumulating as if no deal had been reached.

In an article that I read, Bob Arum said that after he had his people look into why the fight sold so well they discovered that African-Americans drove the PPV buys for Mayweather-Marquez and not Mexicans. He said he underestimated the popularity of Floyd amongst Black people.

As far as Mayweather making 40 million versus Mosley, I think it's possible. He made 30 million versus Marquez and that had like 1 million buys. The fight was ripped apart before it happened and I doubt that happens in this case. If the fight sells 1.5 million PPV's he could make around 35-40 million I guess.

i dont know the split % but its gotta be 70-30 or 65-35 for floyd so 40 million isnt a wildly inacurate thing to say

Thats all i wanted was some proof who was buying the fight. At least you are saying you heard something from an article while these other know it alls are soooo sure that Latinos are buying all these PPVs. I just want a little bit of proof.

It should be around there. If he ended up with 30.9 for the JMM fight should be above that. I think he does make about 40 for fighting a legit WW who happens to be the man at WW.
    With PPV included i mean.

Let's say the ppv does 1.5 mill buys at an average of $52 a buy. That's $78 mill in ppv revenue. Half will go to HBO, which would leave $39 mill for the fighters, and their promotional companies. You also have the site fee which I'm guessing would be about $15 mill. Add in $6 mill for advertisements and you have $60 mill right there. You also have closed circuit t.v sales. I don't know how much he'll end up making, but it will be a ton of money if the fight does well on ppv.

I really doubt he would be making 40 million against Mosley for this fight. If that was the case this fight would have been made quicker and the negotiations with Manny would have not lasted as long as they did. What we do know Mayweather tends to be a liar at times, esp. when it comes to his financial situations.
