Floyd publicly dismissed Canelo a couple weeks ago so he either had Cotto in his pocket or he was going to have to do some serious backtracking or take a lesser opponent. Logic would dictate that he had Cotto all along. Not only does Cotto provide Floyd a wildly marketable fight against a credible opponent, it also allows the next 2 guys in line to enhance their credentials. Ya never know if Floyd will fight twice in a year, but if he beats Cotto and fights in the fall, it'll be against Khan or Canelo. Khan will have a fight under his belt at 147 and Canelo will have had at least one more fight to build credibility. And whoever doesn't get it in the fall, will get it next spring if they haven't taken a loss in the meantime. Pacquiao has Bradley and the Marquez/Peterson winner on his plate. And next spring, watch out for Rios to be in line if still unbeaten. All setting the stage for two past their prime stars to fight in November 2013, even if Manny has a loss or two
