The more I think about this fight, the more I think it could end up like the Hopkins / Calzaghe fight. With Floyd being Hopkins, and Pac being Calzaghe. Both guys have faded, and are no longer prime. One relies mostly on a slick defensive style, the other on work rate and accumulation. And as many thought and may think the more polished, finesse-like fighter won/wins, the work rate, aggression and activity of the other guy scores more points and gets the victory. If both guys have faded a bit, and have lost reflexes a bit, wouldn't it be the guy who is dependant on defense and counter-punching that suffers a bit more, than the guy who relies on moving forward and throwing a lot of punches?
Against Calzaghe Hopkins landed the cleaner punches avoided a lot of incoming fire no doubt about it but he didn't have the stamina to keep doing it. Floyd still has good punch output and work rate and will find a home for the right hand. He's also taller and probably naturally heavier than Pac. Plus Pac has been sparked clean out recently and taking punishment from big guys for so long isn't going to help his chances. His power hasn't been quiet as effective up at the higher weight as well - Floyd was pushed by Maidana for the first time in a good while but still adjusted. This is going to be a close fight but if its a point or two either way Floyd will win on card. Count on it.
I was thinking about this as well. Joe was a very good infighter, thats what is gonna hurt Pacquiao, tho he is the smaller guy. But since both like to keep it midrange we probably won't see much infighting anyways. Joe wore down Bhops Manny will have to do similar.
not the same, hops/joe was simply joe picking a 43 year when he thought he was shot. pac, may, both are atgs, not just one, with great track records and still clearly in good shape.
He didn't fuk up Hopkins troll. He won a close fight that could have gone either way. With that said Calzaghe's ring IQ was light years better than Pac's he has shown the ability to make adjustments against a ring general like Hopkins.:deal On the other hand Pac has fought JMM 4 times and still can't stop from getting hit by right hands.:hi:
Not a terrible comparison, actually. I mean, stylistically Calzaghe is nothing like Pacquiao and Hopkins nothing like Mayweather, but in spite of that some (perhaps more important) key parallels do exist.
It was a close fight troll he didn't beat Hopkins up. You'll say anything in order to further your agenda troll.
