Ok then. Just to clarify before I start, I am neither a Floyd nuthugger nor a *******? (I think that's the term you guys are using). My favorite boxer is Mosley so I'm honestly looking at this from a balanced viewpoint. I'm also not going to discuss steroids. I have an opinion but until either fighter has tested positive for any PED I refuse to involve myself in rumours and mud slinging.

Last night Manny once again looked an amazingly impressive offensive fighter. When he threw punches they looked powerful, pushing a genuinely massive welterweight backwards even when taken on the gloves and his footwork was exceptional. He also seems to hold a good shot and Clottey did manage to tag him a few times. His defence looked a little leaky to me though. He was wide open for the uppercut in close as well as a right over the top at range.

To beat Floyd he will definitely have to sharpen up his defence and not leave as many openings but I genuinely feel that with his work rate and power he will give Mayweather fits. Floyd will need to be at his best to win and at welterweight have we ever seen Money come forward and try to beat a guy? I'm very sure that retreating and counterpunching won't work against Pacman. Floyd struggles a little (not much but these things matter against the best) against lefties and I can see him getting hit much more than usual.

Obviously Floyd has to get past Shane first (i'll be praying for a Mosley win but doubt it will happen at this stage of his career) and we will be able to judge him more following that fight. It will be interesting to see how he deals with a big welter who can punch and has fast hands. I genuinely think if Floyd wins we will see the Mayweather v Manny fight and It will be huge. But for me, at the moment, I see Manny winning if he can tighten up his defence a little.

I personally think The MEN Arena in Manchester, England would be a nice, impartial setting for the fight...........nothing at all to do with me living there of course lol.

It would be bloody brilliant mate. Back on topic though, I can't wait for May now, really hoping Shane wins and upsets the apple cart but I can't see it. The positive is that Floyd v Manny is exactly the shot in the arm boxing needs. It's a genuine super-fight between two brilliant, brilliant fighters with contrasting styles. I'm pretty much changing my mind on a daily basis at the moment as to who will win.

this fight has no bearing on my prefight thoughts of him using PED's!

That fight was the biggest farce I have ever seen!! Clottey came to survive, he never at anypoint in the fight looked like he wanted to win. didnt use his strength or his size to his advantage, didnt spoil him or lean on him... just stood there with his hands up and took pacs shots for 12 rounds. didnt land a single meaningful punch, even the uppercuts were pushed through. Pacquiao looked like he was dancing around a big, 160lb punchbag for the whole night. Why didnt Clottey even try and win? What was his intentions?... To survive against Pacquiao? Oh my god, I feel so sorry for the people who had to pay for that ****!!... Just a workout for Pacquiao, who at no point in the fight shown any sign if tiredness or slowing down. What the fu.....? :bart

Good post, and I agree with a lot of what you said. Floyd tends to take a couple of rounds to make adjustments against most top level fighters, and he's let fighters of a much lower level than himself or Pacquiao either swarm him or keep him pinned against the ropes. Between those two factors alone, Pacquiao has the potential to scrape together enough points for a decision.

Too much aggression will make him open for Floyd, and I'm sure Floyd will find plenty of opportunities to counter Pac, but trying to say that either fighter doesn't have a chance or will get destroyed is just dumb.

Manny was open. Pac won this fight and still came out of it looking worse.

    I think Mayweather KOs him.

I almost agree. I see Floyd winning. PAC is to open for coutners. Hatton found out that it only takes one that you don't see coming to stop you and PAC has been stopped before.
