It would favor pacmans style and physical strength. Its really the only logical cage fight ppl would actual think is legit unless they are pure boxing fans. Most MMA fans know Mayweather doesn't stand a chance against a trained cage fighter.

I believe the fight would be very doable with the right selling point.

Floyd carried McGregor. Floyd stood in front of McGregor the whole fight, barely used angles, and was actually allowing McGregor to land on him, since McGregor has no punching power. If Floyd fought McGregor the way he fights elite boxers it would've been over in 2-3 rounds, since Floyd would countered McGregor every time he made a mistake.

McGregor lowkicks are awful, which is too bad because those are the only strike I can see MMA fighters landing on elite fighters . Also, his mid and high kicks are too telegraphed for him to land those on Floyd.

I've posted plenty of videos of top UFC fighters being ended by very basic boxing counters. All of the guys throwing those counters in the videos I posted are complete amateurs compared to Floyd or any elite fighter when it comes to setting up angles and generating power. Feel free to post some elite boxers that aren't shot or fat getting destroyed in MMA if you can.

Holly Holm around 4-5 years ago was shot as a pro boxer and was struggling to even compete at the top level anymore before her retirement. Look how far she was able to go in the UFC despite having no grabbing skills and being old. Even Holm herself admitted Floyd would do far better than she had in the UFC.

It's not a big stretch that Floyd even at his current age could use his timing and reach to knock a lot of guys out. The only way Floyd would lose in the Octagon is If he fought above his size with guys at Welterweight or Middleweight, which he obviously isn't going to do.

Ya think? I guess it's like Pacquiao carried Floyd. Pacman would easily have beaten Floyd if he'd fought him "for real", instead, he wanted another big bucks rematch and let Floyd look good. Little did he know Floyd would never rematch him! We sure do learn a lot of interesting things on boxing forums.

Other than the buttload of PUNCHES that he hit Floyd with? I bet Floydster was whizzing blood after that Conor punch that almost broke him in twain.

Holly Holm, eh? The kickboxer? She went 7-0-1 in her last eight boxing fights. Sure, she "struggled"

:risas3: If it were sooooo easy he would have signed up already. Instead, he's talking up a storm while snorting up a stripe.

    Floyd:pipi

That's what the MMA guys would do to him. It won't even take a good MMA guy to snap him like a twig.

Floyd and PAC are both very experienced fighters at the elite level, which is why they both played it safe. Pac also punches way harder than McGregor or anyone in the UFC that McGregor has fought.

Also, Holm's kickboxing record is a joke. She has a 2-1 record and beat two women that are nobody in the kickboxing world. I said Holly in her last years as a boxer struggled at the elite level, which she did. She went from being the Undisputed Welterweight champion to fighting for joke titles and dropping a division. If she had anything left at the top level she would've stayed at her division and defended against Braekhus, but instead dropped her titles and needed to drop to 140 in order to compete.

Besides Anne Sophie Mathis her last 7 opponents in boxing were a joke. Holm's footwork, speed, and strength were huge advantages for Holm in the UFC, which are all advantages Floyd would have over UFC fighters from 145-155.

If Holm were any kind of legitimate kick boxer her timing with her headkick wouldn't be so predictable.

Holm's footwork, speed, and strength were huge advantages for Holm in boxing, which are all disdvantages Floyd would have to overcome against UFC fighters from 145-155.

Tell us again about how Floyd carried Conor?

Maybe you can explain how they practised Floyd getting his head bounced around by counter-uppercuts? I bet Floyd thought it was a gas to look like a chump in his own sport against a 0-0-0 UFC guy. :deal:

I was going to reply yesterday BCS8 however there is no educating some.
There are a thousand Thai boxers right now who would obliterate Mayweather in stand up - elbow, knee, grapple the fark out of him. Every boxer knows they cannot even compete under Muay Thai rules, that's why none of them ever spar Thai's under Thai rules, always want to check that any sparring "isn't gonna have any that elbow stuff".

Floyd is the master at the 12 round game.

Increasing the tempo here, decreasing it there.

You can't do that in 3 rounds.

Floyd is an incredibly intelligent fighter, he would pick up on how to throw kicks, do defence, and grapple better than just about anybody, not sure he's built for mma though with those brittle hands in those tiny gloves, also he's a bit too old for this kind of thing

Imagine Sitthichai vs. Mayweather or any JMW in a Muay Thai ring.... They'd be like a fish out of water. Sitthichai's boxing skills are nothing to sleep on either.
