Since the 2013 world championships, AIBA also started a a semi-pro league 4 years ago where boxers have been fighting over 5 rounds with no headgear and and the 10 point must system. They are also starting up there own version of professional boxing called APB boxing, where boxers will be able to fight over 10-12 rounds and still maintain there Olympic eligablity
do you not follow amateur boxing at all?

Sugar Ray Robinson was 85-0 as an amateur.

Yea, that's a false record. Ray Robinson even said in his own book he was beaten once.

Of course it's the same sport. There are 2 aspects of boxing, amateur boxing and pro boxing, so there isn't really anything to be questioned.

Amateur boxing right now is different from what it used to be when Mayweather was in the amateurs. There is no headgear anymore and there is a 10-point must-scoring system just like in the pros. There is also WSB, which is semi-pro boxing with 5 rounds. Also, the AIBA is starting professional boxing soon which will allow boxers to fight at the professional level and represent their country at the same time. I'm sure that the present pro boxing organizations won't like it.

They probably were legit. He couldn't pick and choose at that stage so he got thrown in with a few characters who had his number or were bad style match ups, though nobody who was out and out a better boxer. There's one on youtube where he lost in the ammies. As I recall, Floyd got out worked and out landed, but he beat the guy in the rubber match. The other guy though who beat him twice, I don't know the story on him.

He lost a 4 rounder as a pro too, which he was gifted the decision on. Many, including myself, also believe he lost a decision to Castillo in their first fight. That doesn't take away from his place in history or his skill level, he just had a couple bad nights and the judges knew where their bread was buttered.

A game of one on one on a basketball court is still basketball even though the rules are different to the nba.

Amateur boxing and pro boxing are definitely the same sport.

The reason Floyds head is bigger than Durans balls is peds.
The reason Durans head is bigger than Floyd's balls is Floyd's balls are non existent.
Compare Duran and Floyd to see where Floyd is lacking.

    Not very much.

Guess I wasn't following the 2013 World Championships and must not have watched any amateur fights since. That was just last year... smite me down for not knowing that.

I know all about the "semi pro league."

I don't understand why you'd call me out in the first place. Nothing you've said relates to anything I've said in this thread but OK.

Are slalom skiing and freestyle halfpipe skiing the same sport?

Just because you train with skiis on for both?

    No. They have different rules.

I wonder if people like you just say stuff like that hoping to make it true.

You must mean the Reggie Sanders fight, because he stopped the other 3 opponents in his four round bouts. Btw, he out landed Reggie and did it while throwing fewer punches and landing at a higher percentage.
