I agree he is a excellent boxer one of the best, but he hasn't got the heart of a champion. If he won these fights it would change everything.

    But it wont happen

They started at higher weights than FMJ started at so at least no-one can say they are `smaller`, regardless of who might have a strength advantage... its important the excuses stop in boxing.

he is. ru kidding me? his current state based on his resume and accomplishments secured him but if he wants to climb the atg ladder he needs more fights.

Exactly people don't realise how physically strong PBF is and how hard he can hit with speed and accuracy. I was watching the fights with Hatton, Corrales and Juan Manuel Marquez the other day again. PBF throws excellent hooks and great body shots.

I think Floyd will pick Cotto apart in the later rounds and he'll get the decision over Pacquaio.

Nice post...I agree..FLOYD NEEDS TO FIGHT A COTTO/PAC/MOSLEY/BERTO...IF HE DOES THIS THAN HE CAN SHUT ALOT OF PEOPLE UP AND IF HE WINS THAN HE CAN BE A PROVEN ATG...

IM A FLOYD FAN AND I ADMIT HE NEEDS TO FIGHT THE COTTO/PAC WINNER AND THE BERTO/MOSLEY WINNER TO SOLIDIFY MOST OF WHAT HE SAYS...

CANT KNOCK HIM FOR WHAT HE HAS ACCOMPLISHED THOUGH AND IF 6 TITLES IN 5 WEIGHT CLASSES IS EASY TO DO TODAY THAN WHY HAVENT MORE FIGHTERS DONE IT??

AGAIN PEOPLE KNOCK HIM FOR NOT FIGHTING THE BEST YET BUT DONT KNOCK HIM FOR STUFF HE HASNT DONE YET (MAY OR MAY NOT DO IN THE FUTURE)

    GOOD POST MAN!:good

in response to those who knock me for saying cotto and moseley are stronger than floyd. i did not mean to imply that floyd is weak. by no means! speed kills and floyd has that in abundance. FLoyd is not a weak fighter,

however moseley and cotto are completely natural welterweights who both started theyr careers at higher weight classes than floyd. floyd is a small welterweight. they are NATurally bigger and stronger men. not in terms of punching power but in physical size and strength.

however like i said i feel if floyd did fight them he would come out on top

Pac/Cotto Winner, Mosley and a small middleweight or Williams then i'll put him easily top20. I think Floyd not losing a fight early on in his career destroyed his chance of becoming one of the greatest:(

I bet if PBF had the same exact resume, but flipped around the time frame. He would be perceived better.

Meaning you take his accomplishments in his first 5 yrs as a pro and last 5 yrs as a pro, switch them around. Even with the same exact resume, his perception would probably be way better.

Most fighters work there way to the top and develop there skills by beating D-C level fighters then after they build up there skills and record then they move on to the B-A level range for the remainder of there career unless they can't handle it and fall back down to the C-B level range.

PBF jumped into the B-A level range very early. Way earlier then the normal boxing prospect. As his skills at a young age already made him known and recognized to do it. He met and exceeded all the enormous expectations early in his career in dominating fashion. Then according to most boxing viewers he has tailed off the A level range and has stayed on the B level range for the past couple yrs.

Even if so, he still has many more fights in him to fight multiple A level comp solidifying without a shadow of a doubt his greatness.

The funny part is that people are really banking or put there faith on the idea that if Mayweather's back is against the wall and pressure is put on him, that he is going to break down. But the opposite is going to happen. His instincts, skills, technique, and physical gifts are so good that if you force him to have to box using his A game then he is only going to rise to the occasion. That is what people want though as that is when he is the most exciting to watch.

An ATG to me is a fighter who would be able to fight in almost any era and still be an elite fighter, Floyd isn't one of these. I don't see him fighting anyone at Welterweight even in the 80's.

i disagree that on skills and talent he would be a top20 atg. There are alot of fighters in history who are much better than Floyd.

Floyd is an ATG fighter, but not top20
