Floyd Mayweather claims to be the greatest boxer of all time, ahead of Ali and Tyson
Floyd has Ali at 5th best ever, and Tyson not in top 10

I know Mike Tyson would knock Floyd's head off with one punch, but who is the superior boxer?
Im talking about who is better pound for pound?

I pick Floyd Mayweather. Better resume, tougher competition, better defence, better technician, undefeated, dominated five weight divisions

Mike Tyson however wins when it comes to finishing off opponents with ease, punching power, throwing combination punches and intimidating opponents

I would rather watch Tyson fight any day of the week though, but Floyd is the far better and skilled boxer in my opinion

Iron mike was a great boxer as a means to destroy. Jab, left hook to body, left hook to head combined with elbow then vicious right upercut.

reset bob weave peakaboo guard good foot to get angle then right to body left hook then right cross fight is over

40 seconds top. too destructive to guage boxing ability

defaulting to TBE for this award.

Tyson losing to Douglas would be akin to mayweather losing to Robert guerrero

But he was getting high and drunk every night and not training the way Cus taught him. He squandered the best years of his life being a street (person) which got him where the **** he was by 2002, broke and desperate. At his 1987-89 peak his defense was impregnable. It was and still is the greatest defensive/offensive style ever created and he mastered it and no one has ever been able to properly imitate it, just like the Mayweathers defensive style.

Please look at what I sent to Richmondpete. People were so caught up in Mikes punches they ignored the fact that he rarely ever got hit clean by guys bigger than him.

That depends on what you are looking for, Mike was great on the front foot as Floyd was great on the counterpunching.

I agree with everything you are saying and I love Tyson but mayweather continued improving over a long career and Tyson unfortunately didn't. If mayweather was getting drunk and high all the time and got ko'd by a lesser guy I would hold it against him

good post. as soon as i saw the title, my mind started computing a similar response.
tyson at his best, for how he fought, was not that far separated from mayweathers pure skill level. different approaches to combat, but both requiring equal skill level and athleticism. the way he overcame the disadvantage in stature and length by bobbing and weaving back and forth as he moved past your long jab, was beautiful to watch. once he stopping using his waist like that, he started relying on bullying his way into punching range.
