I think you're underestimating Joshua, British boxing fans and overestimating Wilder and what he offers anybody.

Let's just say (and it's possible) Joshua loses to Parker or Povetkin, it's not going to change much, there will be the rebuild, the comeback, British boxing fans are without doubt the most loyal in the world, they will still buy the PPV's and still turn out in force to support and watch AJ.

Joshua will still be a draw, still have a lot of power and backing from Matchroom and Sky. There are also a few fights that will still be big PPV events, Fury being one of them.

If Wilder loses, makes one slip, it's over, nobody will give a toss, nobody cares about him now.

The only person under pressure is Wilder, he could miss out on a career high payday, either if he loses and if Joshua loses but Joshua still earns large, Wilders dream of a mega money fight vanishes because Parker or Povetkin are not going to generate AJ money.

There is far more pressure on Wilder, Joshua and Parker are going to fight, there might even be a rematch, they will both earn millions and millions.

What is Wilder doing in the meantime? Earning 1 million a fights and fighting who? Ortiz? What does Ortiz bring? That's going to be another embarrassing purse for a world champion.

It was two days after Thanksgiving. Wilder doesn't talk about those fights in the interview, the journalist just mentions them in the finished piece.

Edit: And the boxing coverage in the Guardian is so sporadic, they were probably holding back on publishing the interview until they had no big fights to report on.

Floyd is just saying what 99% of boxing fans know. AJ is the A side by a huge margin and Wilder is on no position to make demands.

Being about 1/5 the draw/ticket-PPV sales, and demanding 1/2 the money

That is Wilders way of pricing himself out, but hoping unknowing, uninformed boxing fans will think he is actually trying to get the fight

As has been said, every wildrr opponent should demand 50 percent from this point forward, and if the clown don’t accept it they need to claim he is ducking them

That’s the same twisted logic Wilder is using so why not use it against him

Isal drenlou kush must be taking this hard
Wilder is a fraud and is making himself a laughing stock
Take the flat fee travel and try to make some real noise rather than just sounding off into an empty void
    Good business decision from aj

People on here calling hypocrisy with this A side mess. Absolutely not. Joshua will not accept 50/50 from a bum crusher and non draw.

Mayweather never granted 50/50 either, but he ducked his mandatory in Keith Thurman for 4 years. Keith Thurman would have accepted a damn 75/25 split. Just for a shot at Mayweather. But here's the problem with that. Thurman was young, big and not a bum. Which adds up to a no go for Floyd's fairy ass.

What Floyd is saying is that 99% of boxing fans know that a demand of 50-50 or no deal is a duck by Wilder!
